I don't post much but scan the messages as they come in. Wanted to let you know

I'm almost five months and no weight gain as of yet either. Actually, I lose

with each visit. Last visit was losing a pound in two weeks. My OB isn't

familiar with GBS patients and is concerned. She said I should gain 15 to 20 lbs

before delivering. I'm not so sure about that!

Sydney

Due July 10th w/ #4 (but first since surgery)

GBS May 30th, 2002 So far lost 122 lbs

I have not gained any weght

My question is is there anyone out there who is 6 months and has not

gained any weight. I think I lost a couple of pounds and I am eating

all the time. My Doctor says everything is right on track but I

still worry about the baby growing and being ok. I would really

appriciate some feed back. Chrissy

Chrissy,

I've just started my 6th month and I am still 10 lbs down from where I

started when I became pregnant. My doctor isn't worried. I have an ultrasound

tomorrow, so I will let you know that everything's OK once I get back from

that. The baby seems to be growing (although I'm barely showing at all... no

one

even knows I'm pregnant!) and the heartbeat is strong. I will keep you

posted, but I don't think it's so unusual for us to not gain any weight. I had

lost all of my " surgery " weight before becoming pregnant, too.... so it's not

as if I had a lot to lose. I am still wearing my pre-pregnancy size 10 jeans.

You're not alone!

Hey Chrissy

I'm almost 34 weeks pregnant and I haven't gained any weight

either. My baby is growing every week, doc says she's right on

track. I eat constantly! Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be

fine.

Lost 15 pounds the first trimester...

did not gain or lose anything up until delivery. Had a

beautifully healthy pregnancy with a wonderful

homebirth.

that's why midwives don't usually care how much you

gain or lose...they are more interested in what and how

much you are eating. =) I'd much rather see a mom

who loses 10 pounds through the pregnancy eating

healthy proteins and whole grains and nutrition

choices...than I would someone who gaines 25-35

pounds who does so eating KFC and ice cream every

day...

(and that why many care providers won't even weigh

you AT ALL...because there's no information that can

be gotten from weighing you that can't be gotten in

other, and better, ways.)

Try not to focus on the scale..and just focus on being as

healthy as you can be. =)

I am 15 weeks today and haven't gained anything as of yet but my OB is not

concerned. They just tell me that I will catch up and that everything will be

fine. I sure hope so since with my first pregnancy I gained 60lbs.

I lost 91 lbs during my pregnancy. I was laso only 7 weeks post-op when I

concieved our son. I suffered from Hyperemesis gravidarium the entire nine

months. Although, I was fatugue-stricken and nutrient deprived

was born healthy weighing 7lbs 13oz and is now a year old. I was

scared and my OB/Perinatalogist wanted me to atleast not lose weight, I

couldn't help it. You will be okay. Take your vitamins and eat as healthy as

possible. You're baby will do fine, I am sure. Best wishes!

Hi Chrissy,

I'm 27 weeks and haven't gained any weight. My weigh loss has

slowed down a ton. I'm not gaining any but not losing any. I had

my surgery in May of 2003 and I got pregnant 3 months out of surgery

while on birth control pills. My midwives were at first freaked out

by not gaining any weight but after consulting with a high risk

doctor who has had many gastric bypass OB patients, he has reasured

them and me that it is completely normal. They still will do follow

up ultrasounds to check for growth, but our baby is doing just

fine. I seem to be eating all the time, so I'm not concerned.

Hope this helps,

Jenn
