I just realized that I have been taking Tylenol 3, flexeril and naproxen all

for muscle relaxers and back, neck and headaches. All this was prescribed by

the doctor at the ER a week and a half ago and I didn't know I was pregnant,

and then I got a refill on them. I have been popping them like crazy, will this

hurt my baby? The reason I just realized this is because I am having a bad

head neck and back ache again and want to take my medicine so bad. I am trying

to

bare the pain though until I go to the doctor Wednesday. what should I do

until then ladies? I know most of u maybe tired of me posting but I just found

out I am pregnant for the 1st time ever yesterday and I am thinking of all the

things I did wrong. I am worrying and stressing that I did some things wrong.

Well, I am about to try and get some sleep that way I wont think about it.

Thats another thing the medicine helped me sleep.

Sweetie, take a deep breath and relax, its going to be ok. I have some

experience with all of these meds so I will share it with you. The one you need

to worry about the most is the Tylenol 3, and its not so much the narcotic in

it, its the Tylenol in it. The max amount of Tylenol a person can safely take

in a day is 2000mg. I have to take hydrocodone (vicodin) for pain control and

have taken it before and now during my pregnancy, which is Tylenol and codeine,

so it is like Tylenol 3 from what I understand. When I was early in my

pregnancy I kept my Tylenol levels at 1000mg per day, and now that I'm at 33

weeks and my arthritis pain is work my OB has allowed me to up it to 1500mg per

day. I also take flexeril on occasion but I have the blessing from my OB to

take up to 3 pills per day that are 10mg apiece, but I try to keep it at just

one pill a day. I'm not sure about the naproxen as I have not taken it during

pregnancy so maybe call your pharmacy and find out what class it is in for

pregnancy, you can find the class definitions on the web. I hope some of this

info helped and you feel better soon. :)

Please make sure you check with your OB regarding the safety of this

medicines either individually or when taken together. This list cannot

provide you with medical advice. Definitely call your ob and ask her to call

you immediately -- or have the doctor on call call you so that you can

question this. Tylenol is normally fine for pregnant women however Tylenol 3

is another story. Call now and find out.

I just wouldn't take anything else until I saw the OB. If the pain gets really

bad or bothersome I would call the prescribing Physician and tell him/her that

you just found out you are pregnant and not sure what to take. I was always told

regular Tylenol is okay, but I have known of people that were on prescription

pain meds while pregnant and everything was okay. Not sure what they were taking

though. You will feel better after seeing the OB on Wednesday.

You really need to check with your doctor.. Muscle relaxers are a class c I

believe, and should only be taken if ABSOLUTELY necessary. and if you are in

your first trimester, I would call them NOW to find out if you should be taking

them.
