sharp knife, like a razor or a very sharp pocket knife. A scalpal might

work really well too. One parent used a leather punch and punched holes in

a circle and then cut out (like perforations). I never actually did it

myself. The orthotist did. They have lots of groovy leather tools in the

brace shops ya know. Good luck!!

I haven't done it Maureen. But you could always just take it to your local

cobbler to do. They have tools that can cut right through that leather.

Hi

We used a leather belt hole punch and just punched the holes in circle until

we were happy it was big enough.

Good luck

-- cutting the markell shoes

good morning,

i want to cut a hole in the back of naomi's markells to make sure her

heel is coming down. i'm thinking i could probably do it with

scissors, but i don't want to start something and realize that i can't

do it.

has anyone done it? and how did you do it?

thanks in advance!

I'd probably use an exacto knife.

When Kai was in his last pair of Markells my husband used a utility blade and

cut a rctangular hole ... both worked well.

Hi Maureen

I'm a bit late to reply, but can't you take the shoes to where you have them

fitted and get it done there?

We are in Australia and the orthodics dept at the childrens hospital

automatically do it - I thought it was a normal to have a hole where the heel

is.
