Well those two weeks went quickly! Of course you have missed nothing

interesting!

Glad you had a lovely time, are your parents totally worn out now?

>>>Glad you had a lovely time, are your parents totally worn out now?

They claim not to be, but are nearly in their 70s, so two kids under 2 3/4 is

pretty intensive (OK, I was there too... ). My Dad is pretty good with them

actually, he's the only one who can get DS to sit still on his lap for 30

minutes or so, just by calmly showing him very little treasures... a cone, a

piece of paper, an empty bottle. DS is otherwise desperate to practice his new

skills - crawling, nicking toys off DD, and pulling himself up everywhere.

DD was struggling a bit more - she is so aware now, that she missed her house,

her friends, her bed, etc. She kept saying 'are we going home soon'... still she

loved having more people who could read to her, helping out, and the mere

freedom of being able to run in and out of the house on her own (don't get much

of that in central London).

She nearly potty trained herself in the time we were there too, probably because

we did very little - mostly stayed around the house. Also it was warm, so she

hardly wore any clothes, and my parents house is all on one floor (so short way

to run to the potty...).

Think I might have to import the grandparents again some time soon.

Hi everyone!

We made it back from Iowa...sorry I didn't get to meet anyone, but we

got into our appointment late as they were running behind...hopefully

we will get another chance!

got to see our shoes with the wedges and was very excited about

them. He will be incorporating that into the next design. He is

working on that now. He is hoping to get that on all the shoes so

babies of every age can work on building those leg muscles. I know

even at 3 months you work on standing them and bouncing them on their

feet on your laps or chairs or beds...the shoes with a wedge on the

toes will help that.

is adjusting to his casts again. oiy! He is soooo ticked

because he can't pull himself up to standing. It's a little

frustrating, but this too will pass. It was a good trip and I am

quite relieved to have gone. The casts look great...well, as good as

casts can look. He's getting a good stretch and we go back on Monday.

We have an appointment set for 9:00 to begin soaking his casts off.

yay, and then on to round two. Dr. Ponseti thinks two more sets after

this one.

I have missed so many posts...I am sorry I am a bit behind...I will

get caught up. I can't believe how much I missed chatting with

everyone. :)

Hopefully all you who were in Iowa yesterday had a good visit as well!

I am so sorry I missed you!

thanks again for everyones prayers!

Yeah, they were running behind. Aside from us taking up more time for our

initial appt., did you hear why? LOL Dr. P started out to walk to work as

usual but he got 'blown to bits' so he turned back for the car. :) Ninety and

still such a card! LOL

I wonder if you could share what kind of foam you have and perhaps we can just

add that in to her shoes for now as well. She's VERY tight and we are hoping to

avoid another tenotomy on both feet so that would help maintain her dorsiflexion

I'm sure. I could get the foam (PT is a wonder when it comes to getting what

you need) and have it on hand when he removes her last cast or when we do. Can

you send a picture to my email?

can't even sit up well at the moment. LOL He really turned her legs and

feet so they 'look' like they are backwards. She's crawling though but pulling

herself up - a favorite activity before yesterday morning - will have to wait

awhile again. She did already " bless " her cast though dagnabbit. Her gastro

issues and my mother's diapering skills didn't go well with her new cast.

UGH!!!

We ended up at the RR/Baymount. Where did you stay?

yeah, he is amazing isn't he? LOL! Joyce was telling us, he will

call her up after work sometimes and ask if she wants to go to a movie

with him and his wife, she's already in her jammies! hahahaha!

Thought that was pretty cute!

We ended up staying at the marriot. My dad in law had free reward

points so he got us the room for free, we'll be there next sunday as well.

I would have your orthotics division put it on, otherwise give your

shoes to john at the next appt, he's usually there on mondays I know

he would be happy to make the addition for you. The bar is bent

slightly, so the foam needs to be shaved to sit properly. I don't

even know what kind they used. I will find out at PT on wednesday.

's getting around just fine in his casts, but don't forget he was

in them for 11 months! He's quite used to them, he's just pretty mad

he can't pull himself up anymore. He was doing so well in that area.

oh well...do what you gotta do! :)

haha..those were short lived hunh? hasn't christened his yet,

but pretty soon I'm sure! boy do I miss the bar for diaper changes.

LOL, I've already gotten my wrist smackked! Oiy! does tht ever hurt!! :)

I am glad you got there and back safely! We will have to meet up

Sunday night if we can or maybe monday morn in the cast room! haha!

have fun!! :)
