Guest guest
Robin, My friend had one exactly like the one in your groin and it was a pain to fix, I guess they had to do it twice and use some mesh stuff because it didn't take the first time so be careful when you get that one fixed after the baby. I think I may have made this bigger with the shoveling but I kinda think its been there for a while and I didn't know it. I remember noticing " something " different when I was about 3-4 months pregnant and that was before snow, but was definitely around lawn mowing/leaf raking time. LOL! The wonders of being a military spouse is that hubby is at work so much that most of the household chores falls to the spouse. Just another sacrifice we make for our country. Do you think this counts as a injury in the line of duty? LOL! Our biggest concern is when we were living here in a hotel for a couple of months before out " official " move here I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery and I made sure that I got a surgeon who did WLS so he was going know what he was looking at. Well the surgeon and hospital staff was so awful that I almost died twice!!! Once because they seriously overdosed me with morphine after surgery and none of the nurses would answer my beep, and second because the surgeon did the surgery lap and I told him several times I was way too short (5'0 " ) for lap surgery and he did it anyway, ended up cutting something and I bleed internally for 3 days needing 3 transfusions and my entire stomach turning black! So my husband and I are really nervous about me having another surgery here to say the least. I mean we are already nervous as hell having our kid here, thats a big reason why I'm having my twin sis with RN experience in the room, so she can keep an eye on everything they are doing with my kid, but we can't exactly have her in the room during a surgery. I sure wish I knew people up here that could recommend some surgeons. Axelrod - Question about pouch - Help! I had a big grapefruit like bulge in my upper abdomin that I thought was my pouch and when I went for my 6 months checkup with my surgeon he felt around and said it was a hernia, he was right the last time he said I had one from my gallbladder too and he fixed that one when he did my gastric bypass. I now have one too in my groin area, like almost in the crease of my leg but on the pubies,(sorry for the visual) it is the size of a walnut but when I used the treadmill it grew to the size of a tangerine, I never knew it was there until I did the treadmill for several days, yours is probably starting from the shoveling, He checked that one and I was scheduled for surgery for the 2 of them right before thanksgiving but the doc had to cancel because he did something to his eye and now I have to cancel until after the baby. He knows I am prego and said it should not be any problem at all Thank God for that HUGS, ROBIN, NY Age- 41 Due Date- July 27th, 2004 OPEN RNY 10-18-02 378/246/170??? Guest guest
Omg, I would be scared to death to have anything done in that hospital after almost dying 2x. I would ask anyone you run into about docs and see who recommends who the most. Or maybe the ernia will go down enough to wait it out until you do find a good surgeon. Maybe call your old surgeon and see if they know anyone in your area HUGS, ROBIN, NY Age- 41 Due Date- July 27th, 2004 OPEN RNY 10-18-02 378/246/170???
