Guest guest
, Can I just ask if you delivered vaginally? Or did you have a c-section? Sorry. Am just curious. mailto: dferguson@... BTC, Columbus, 10/7/
Guest guest
Jaunita, It has been many long years since I had my OB rotation in nursing school, and my primary nursing experience is in ER not OB, but with that said, I believe that the ultrasound measurements are used as guidelines to track your baby's growth. The measurements do NOT change your due date. The earlier the ultrasound is in your pregnancy, the more accurate it is in calculating and verifying your due dates. Many babies grow at different rates, and larger babies will measure at a sooner due date, but that doesn't actually mean your due date changes. I hope this makes sense. Your ovulation calculations should not change based on your babies measurements. However, if he is measuring larger than his actual dates, he might be more developed and able to be born sooner than your estimated due date. Remember...it is just an estimate. The little guy will come when he decides he is ready, unless you plan to induce or have a C- section that is. I just mention this, because with my first child we had several ultrasounds, and my babies due dates kept " changing " per the ultrasound tech due to his " measurements, " and the doctor explained all this to me at that time and said my due dates didn't actually change because of his ultrasound measurements. Hope I didn't confuse you! Congratulations on a great ultrasound report! Donna
