Guest guest
Trish, You hope its ok that your more active in the group? HECK YEAH IT IS!!! Major congrats on your pregnancy and I'm sending you positive vibes and prayers that it all goes good! Axelrod 1st ultrasound and update Hey Ladies, I don't mean to get in the middle of a conversation - I usually lurk..but just found out that I am pg - I am 5 weeks 5 days today. Had my beta done on the 8th and it was 218, on the 10th it was 546 - and then again on the 16th and it was 5520! So it's going well.. I am scheduled for my 1st ultrasound on Tuesday which will make me 6 weeks and 3 days.. I hope that we get to see the little flashing. I am only 7 months post op - but have most of the weight I wanted to by the end of January. My hubby and I had tried for 3 years prior to get pg with fertility drugs - 1 time I did, but sadly ended in miscarriage very early on. Anyway - we were told that since I had so much difficulty getting pg before, and I STILL wasn't ovulating - that I could go ahead and try and that way I would be ready to move on to IVF by the summer time - well, it worked on the 1st shot. I am pg, hoping like crazy this one sticks. Eating the right things, exercising, staying as stress-free as possible. Taking my vitamins. I am still scared - but am hoping that my near 100 pound weight loss will help me and the baby. So my 1st ultrasound is Tuesday with my OB and then I have another one on the 29th with my RE.. should be fun! Now that we are pg - I will probably be more active.. hope that's okay. Guest guest
Trish, Well, I don't know about others, but for me personally I'm on tons of list, moderating some and I don't really care if people lurk as long as they aren't there to cause trouble. There are some lists that I lurk on because either I just don't make the time to post (cuz I'm posting on lists that are more important like this one!), or I am there to learn and don't feel like I have anything to contribute as of yet. This list is unique as you don't " have " to be preggers to contribute. In my opinion the more members we have here the better because each pregnancy is unique, then we add having WLS on top of that and all of us here are a pretty special group. We need to gather as much info from eachother as possible to educate surgeon's, OB's, and anyone else involved in a pregnancy. Axelrod Re: 1st ultrasound and update Hi ! Guest guest
Oh I agree!!! Education is the key - and it's a little scary to go through pregnancy after the surgery.. Ok - it's a little scary to go through pregnancy anytime - lots of questions.. but there is so much to consider. Like vitamins.. My OB insists on using prescription prenatal vitamins - I had to tell her that they have to be smaller than dime-size according to my surgeon - so she gave me chewable. Wasn't even aware of the issue for WLS patients.. Anyway, Thanks so much, and I hope to be much more active in the future!
