It is very difficult for us to answer questions like yours because

so many of us are in our first pregnancies, too... and few, if any

of us have the medical knowledge to answer your questions with any

certainty... so be aware, that my answers are just from my own

experiences, from my research, and from what I have gleaned from my

friends... and ALWAYS ask you ob and surgeon before making any

changes in your routine, okay? :~)

1. How long should we expect to continue losing weight, and when

will we start gaining? This varies so greatly from person to person

it can't really be answered. It depends on how soon after wls you

got pregnant, whether or not your weight had stabalized, how much

you are eating, and so many other variables... everyone is different.

2. How many of you who got pregnant before the end of your first

year after WLS had a high risk OB? IMHO, anyone who is under 12

months out should be considered high risk...

3. How many vitamins are you generally supposed to take a day?

AGAIN, it depends on the person and their vitamin assay results! You

need to get a complete vitamin assay/bloodwork done and supplement

accordingly. Some women take one prenatal and supplement with other

vitamins as the assay's determine, and others take two prenatals and

other supplements. It should depend on YOUR bloodwork and nothing

else!!

Try to eat a well-balanced diet of 2000 calories per day, stay away

from sugars, be sure to take the vitamins that your assays determine

you need, be careful with the glucola gestational diabetes drink, it

can make you dump (there are two other alternative tests you can

do... one is a fasting then 2 hour after eating blood sugar and the

other is the jelly bean sugar test).

Hope this helps and good luck!!
