Guest guest
I've been amused and comforted by the clothing discussion. It's nice to know I'm not alone. However, I've wondered off and on about sleepers with footies - I know we aren't supposed to use them with the shoes but I've been wondering why not. We have the shoes and I keep looking at them and wondering why I can't just put those on her and put the shoes over them for the night. Sure, there are seams but some of her socks have seams as well and it doesn't seem to bother her. So is there something else? Yeah, I know - dumb question of the day! Guest guest
I don't think it's a dumb question, I don't know the answer and I would like to know because people gave my son pajamas with feet for the baby shower. I thought the feet could just replace the socks. So thanks for asking the question. Holly -- In nosurgery4clubfoot , " " wrote: > I've been amused and comforted by the clothing discussion. Guest guest
There is no such thing as a dumb question. I may be in a minority, but I did occasionally use footed sleepers with my older son's (who is now 6 1/2 years old) FAB. He had the Markell shoes on his though. The thinner sleep and play type sleepers aren't too bad if they are long enough. I was able to use a blanket sleeper in the shoes, but only when the shoes were larger. Part of the reason that it probably isn't recommended is that the material can bunch up in the shoes and cause slipping or sores. wrote: > I've been amused and comforted by the clothing discussion. Guest guest
My biggest prblem with Pj's and the DBB/shoes is that it never fails, when I put my son in Pj's that can not be removed without removing his shoes also he always will end up soaked & needing new pj'S. But throw on one of those soft little one piece romper things (no feet) and he usually ends up dry. This way I can do a diper change at midnight beofre turning in myself. My son is now 22 months, I am praying that th doc will let us give up the DBB at night at his 2 yr old apt. It is getting harder & harder to find one piece rompers...I do not even think they make them above a 24 mo. Lucky for me he runs true to size & age, my daughter always ran the next size up. While on clothing subject anyone have luck finding really small snow boots...like a size 2 or 3??? I think I will start a new thread...Good Luck > > > I've been amused and comforted by the clothing discussion. It's nice > > to know I'm not alone. Guest guest
Hi, I just peeked in on this thread and haven't read the whole thing. I found some one piece outfits at Babies 'R Us - I think they're MiniWear - and they have snaps on the chest and in the legs. While they might be playsuits, they look like sleepers. We have several pairs of these and they're great. I think they run up to 24 months - I'm not sure but you might want to look around in their store. I don't think you can get them on the website, though. 11.23.03 > > > > > I've been amused and comforted by the clothing discussion. It's nice > > > to know I'm not alone. Guest guest
OK - I'll offer one more thing on this. In the sewing department at Wal-Mart I found these little elastic straps with a snap at each end (on the button rack). I cut the feet out of his jammies, then use these straps to hold the pant leg down so it doesn't ride up and give him a chilly leg. I snap one end of the strap to one seam (say the inside seam of his pant leg) go under his shoe with it, and snap to the other seam. Holds the pant leg down over his leg. s. I've been amused and comforted by the clothing discussion. It's nice to know I'm not alone. However, I've wondered off and on about sleepers with footies - I know we aren't supposed to use them with the shoes but I've been wondering why not. Guest guest
This made me laugh. I remember 's first Halloween. We had bought him this little outfit from Old Navy that had snaps in the crotch. I was working at the hospital and my husband was at home getting the boys dressed to bring them trick-or-treating at the Hospital (they have an event there each year for hospital employees). He calls me frantic--there were solid one inch bands at the ankles that we had not noticed when we bought the outfit. He had not been in the shoes very long and neither one of us were able to put his shoes on alone yet because he fought you so bad. So I was like cut it! We'll never use it again anyway!
