I completely understand!! Overalls are our best friend - luckily

there are so many styles of them, it doesn't seem like she wears the

same thing everyday.

We do put her in pants that snap. We can usually maneuver them over

the bar, or quickly unscrew it to get them on. You only have to

unsnap the crotch for diaper changes, so doing it to put them on in

the morning and take them off at night isn't too bad.

I feel like we can never find her pj's to wear becuase they all have

feet. And forget those adorable little snowsuits.

hey! try e-bay. I went there to see if I could sell off some of the

absolutely gorgeous, absolutely useless, expensive footed baby gifts

we received. Stuff is selling CHEAP! and I have been able to find

really cute replacement clothes - but am going to give my beautiful

things away as gifts as the money isn't there!

It is frustrating especially with pj's as they all have feet!

Believe me I understand! Been there!

However, I do use those stretchy pants - they stretch enough to work and it is

easier than some others. Also remember that she's only in the shoes full time

for three months. So eventually you will get to wear even more cute outfits!

Trust me - that's one of the great joys with getting less time in the shoes!

I dress my daughter very well - but cheaply because I shop " Preschool PTA

Sales " . You can get wonderful little outfits for pennies on the dollar

including things like gymboree. And when they are this small, the only things

you have to watch for are snap issues and stains that look like you can't get

them out. But those are few and far between for me! I LOVE PTA sales!!!

I know it is petty of me to vent about something materialistic like

clothes, especially when there are so many more important concerns

(like correction & sleeping etc.). But lately it is really getting

to me.

I went shopping (again) on my lunch hour today and I was nearly in

tears in the mall. is 23/7 with the s and it truly

rules out 90% of the cute outfits available for girls. is in

daycare full-time so I must have outfits that have no feet in them,

snap in the crotch and go over her head. It is too much trouble to

have my daycare lady take off the shoes, nor do I want her to, even

for a minute, to get dressed. So that rules out all the cute

cotton onzies with the cotton stretch pants that go over the onzie

(perfect for daycare). All cheaper stores sells these type of

outfits, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. It also rules out all pants what-so-

ever because even if they have snaps in the crotch, the elastic waste

would have to fit over her head/shoulders. I have found dresses with

the onzie underneath sets, but this is too unrealistic for daycare.

So I have been limited to the s cotton play outfit that snaps

up both legs to the crotch and all the way up the chest. Quite

frankly, I'm tired of looking at them and ALWAYS looks like she

is wearing PJ's.

I am with you! Zoe has those same s outfits and marked in the

tag which ones I am using for PJs and which ones for day outfits

because they all look the same. Zoe

is in daycare too and you are right, dresses are just not practical.

When she tries to crawl she stumbles, etc. We had a dr. visit two

weeks ago and I had put off buying more winter clothes hoping they

would reduce her down to just nights, or something, but she is still

on 16 hours/day. We do 8pm until 12pm. I have considered taking the

bar off in the a.m., dressing her and either putting the bar back on

then, or having them do a mid day wearing session, but she does not

like having it put on, so I feel like that is kind of tricking her

somehow.

It is not petty, it ticks me off too! The 23 hours will go by quick

though and then you can make some changes to your routine and buy up

the store!

Hi ,

I do understand your frustration. I hate those one piece suits with the

snap crotches for girls. They're just not attractive IMO. Darbi did her

23/7 in the summer, but she was in the shoes 16-18hr/day all through last

winter and I don't do naps so she did the whole time in one stretch (8pm -

12 or 2pm - so the whole rest of the evening was *off*. I can't even think

of putting those shoes on twice a day, once is enough for me!). Here's

what I did, and it worked very well for us. I used lots of stretch pants

and tights with snap crotch turtlenecks/shirts and dresses. She wore just

the tights in the shoes and it worked very well. As long as they fit tight

over the toes (stretchy) that's all she wore (no socks). Also, the stretch

pants are easy to pull down to the ankles and diaper changes are easy. I

am SAHM but I take my sons to school in the am so we leave the house rather

early. I rarely put her in jammies for the night. In fact, I would dress

her for the next day each night in tights or stretch pants and shirt and

she slept in those just fine. Who needs jammies anyway? It was just an

extra step for me in the morning and I was glad to be rid of it. If you

use a snap crotch shirt and tights, you can pull a dress over her head in

the morning and she's cute in an instant! Or a dress over the stretch

pants works well too.

PJ's... dont' get me started! That has been the most difficult thing and

knowing it's not going away any time soon makes it even harder. So... I made

sleep sacks that fit over the shoes and just snap over the shoulders. Then I

put her pj's on and a " bed jacket " - sweaters, jackets and such that have

collected and don't match anything - so she's got several layers on her arms.

Then I slip on the sleep sack. I'll use two when it gets colder here in our

NEOh winters but for now one is good. I'll make medium weight ones in the

spring...

Hi ,

I'm sorry you are getting so frustrated with this I too get

upset since is in the 23/7 right now too. I just keep

saying that it's almost over. I know just started so you've

got a while longer. Don't know if my words will help but you are

definitely not alone.

Since I also have the little girly girl, I am SOOOO drawn to the

dresses and really girly clothes. Since is also not yet

walking, dresses pose the crawling challenge so we only wear them

for church and parties. I have to say that I like the little

's outfits -- has quite a few of them. They are not

especially girly but they are soft and warm and easy to put on and

off. Since wears the Markell's I have been unscrewing the

bolt on on side and putting pants on/off and then screwing back on.

I do not have the added situation of childcare but I am sure that if

I did I would not wnat the provider messing with the bolts for fear

of not putting them back at the right angle.

I wish I had more advice. Hopefully others will.

I agree, ebay with baby clothes doesn't seem like it's worth the

hassle. But I do buy things there from time to time. I like the lots, and

the bigger the better. I've bought quite a few lots of one kind of thing

(shorts, shirts, pants or a mixture in one size) for my oldest and been

very happy with an ebay purchase that way. So if you still want to sell

your stuff you may want to package it up in a large lot or a lot of things

that match and try that. Just a thought :~}

Don't feel bad. I felt the same way about my son. There were so many clothes

we recieved as gifts and he was never able to wear. He was early so he never

got a baby shower either. Oh well! He is 21 months old now and his feet look

incredible. It may not feel like it now but the time will fly by.

Must agree with you. I have a terrible time as well. Sometimes I do

cheat and take off Ava's shoes for 10min in the morning and put a

really cute two piece with stretch pants and pray she will not have a

major BM.LOL..

I have found the Gap online has some cute cotton snap crotch pants

and jeans. I justify spending the money because it's not like she can

have huge wardrobe. The waist is easy to get on over the shoes or

head. At night time I use the bag sleepers with the zipper front and

just slit the bottom of the sack so she can kick her feet. I do like

the carter outfits and overalls but not everyday. I have bags of

clothes from Olivia, I practicly didn't have to buy clothes for her

the first year. She was the first granddaughter in my family after 6

grandsons, the Aunts went crazy buying stuff. I still went through

the bags as the season changed just to see what I could get away with

using. Shirts mostly and just switch up with the pants I mentioned

above. I even bought a pair of boys jeans with the snap crotch

because I couldn't find any girls at the time. I once asked a manager

at babies r us why they didn't carry clothes with the snap crotch in

the cute outfits and she said it's the designers who want there

clothes to look like " the big girls " I guess they forget about

convieniece of changing a diaper, just adding a few snaps would make

a world of difference.

I'm sorry you're finding it hard to dress her. I have a son - and frankly

dressing hasn't been any issue at all. Truthfully I thought dressing a girl

would be easier! haha! I know you want to dress her up girly, I would too -

but for now, settle for what is comfy and convienient. I go with a lot of

" sweat pants " type pants, they stretch enough to bring down over the knees to

change diapers. THey are warm and snuggly, comfy to crawl or sleep in. Or

pants with snap legs. How often does she need to be changed in a day? Cloths, I

mean, not diapers. It's hard for me to imagine her getting that dirty at day

care she'd need her cloths changed very often.

I remember a mother here once saying she used dresses on her girl with tights

underneath for warmth.

Another thing, so what if she looks like she's wearing her jammies all day -

at this age, think of the comfort factor. " Regular " cloths are really stiff and

harsh on a little baby who cannot stand up straight, all the tight seams,

etc.that bunch up and they can't adjust their own garmet for comfort when it

gets balled up around their throat, arms, belly......., really don't feel good,

it's like you sleeping in your work cloths, kwim? Their cloths need comfort and

stretch because they're just this little ball of blub right now.

Thanks to everyone who gave great advice to clothing frustrations! I now

have some new ideas to try. I know it is only temporary and the

frustrations will soon pass.

I know what you mean!!! For anyone living in Canada, there is a store

called " The Children's Place " that seems to have tons of cute stuff

with snaps for really reasonable prices. I did a google search which

brings thier web site up but they don't have many of these great

outfits on their site for some reason, you will have to go to the

store...there is a store locator on their site. I was really lucky to

have found this store,I bought a TON of outfits when I finally did

stumble upon it, the sales girl could not believe it was all for my

baby, I know you can all relate, I saw all those snapps and I think I

started hyperventeliating LOL!!! If any of you perhaps know of a

chain of stores in the US etc, let everyone know!! It is such a score

to find...

My mother in law always has great finds at walmart. They have these convertable

pjs, they have reversable snaps. They change from night gowns to legs with a

slight change in the snaps.

Babies r us has the snap leg jammies too. They actually have sizes up to 36

months.

, there is nothing wrong with venting, vent away, it's healthy. I'm

currently home with my son Aidan (preemie, 3 months old, blcf). I feel like he

lives in onesies and I'm sick of looking at them. We're still in casts but it

would be fun to dress him up in something cute. I have a couple of cute outfits

that zip or button all the way down but I can't tell you how many adorable

outfits I've had to give away because they're not practical with the clubfoot

equipment.

At his baby shower I said " How cute " a million times. Then the next day gave

the outfits to other parents I met in the NICU for their children, because my

Aidan wouldn't be wearing them. Kinda depressing.

I wish I could sew, I'd make a clothing line for clubfoot children!!!

Everything would be a onesie underneath (able to pull over head) but covered

with a dress. Or cute sweat suits that snapped all the way down. Bloomers with

ruffles that snapped etc... Gosh, have you every had a good idea but not the

tools to carry out. Unfortuneately, I'm not creative at all.

, yes, it is frustrating! However, keep in mind that will

only be in the FAB fulltime for a relatively short period (3

months). Once the fulltime FAB wear is over and her time is reduced,

you can go crazy dressing her in all of those super cute outfits! In

the meantime, you may want to try 2nd hand stores to find do-able

outfits for this stage of FAB wear. At this age, babies aren't

really wearing clothes long enough for them to really wear out, so

you should be able to get outfits that still look great relatively

cheap!

I hear you, it's frustrating, but it will soon be over. I have the same issue

myself with the clothes. However, I'm not sure if there is one by you or not,

but the Babies R' Us by me sells these onesies that snap by the belly button and

go arm first so you don't have to go over the head and they are not hard to put

on at all. Lhea can't stand anything going over her head so I have to get

things that go arm first and snap on.

Right now Lhea's in her shoes and I just got her fall wardrobe

consisting mostly of snap on pajamas and outfits.
