I have mild obstructive sleep apneas, but many, many hypopneas. It is when

you don't stop breathing, but your breathing is very slow. I breath 2-3

times a minute when asleep. Lack of REM sleep seems to be fairly common with

us folks. Mine has increased with the increase in my pressure setting and I

actually dream once in awhile.

First off thank you Alice and Laurie...

I guess what I still dont understand is the report said obstructive sleep

apnea on CPAP..isnt it supposed to stop it?

also they stopped at the setting of 6 yet I had 19 hypopenias at the setting

of 6, my sats werent too bad in the 80's on 6 but I would think they would

get them in the 90's anyway and I had a high arousal index...shouldnt they

have gone higher until they improved?

Have you discussed this with the respiratory therapist? They don't want my

stats to be under 90 and this is why they want me on oxygen. My CPAP is set on

12.

I would make a call and get some information if I could. This is not something

that we have much expertise on and really should be addressed by your doctor.

.

I wondered the same thing when you shared the results, but this is something

you need to discuss with your doctor. Not all my episodes are gone, but much

improved with the CPAP.
