Guest guest
Wondering about the Benefiber... do you take it as a preventative, i.e., on a daily basis to keep things running smoothly, or do you only take it when needed. If its only when needed, how long does it take to kick in? A couple of weeks ago I was haveing a problem with constipation and the resulting trapped gas. I was in agony and tears and my OBGyn gave me the go ahead to take MoM, THIS ONCE, and cautioned me to avoid it in the future. It was a drastic measure THIS ONCE, lol. I'd like to find something that is safe for us to take to KEEP things running smoothly. Toi > Hi I recommend Benefiber for constipation. It works great. It is tasteless and does not puff up and dissolves in any kind of liquid. Keeps me regular. Just got the nod today from my OB nurse to take it. >> > >
Guest guest
I normally take only one dose a day. I use a tablespoon and mix it into my milk and Honey Bunches of Oats with a scoop of protein powder. Can't taste a thing! Oh yes, when I do it everyday, within minutes of eating my cereal I am taking care of business. But just that once and the rest of the day I am fine. I quit taking it this past week and a half until I got the OK today from my OB nurse and I've been constipated without it. With the calcim citrate and the cheese I eat, let me tell you! As bypass patients we really need fiber in our diets and this is a simple and easy way to get some in everyday. Give it a try. It's in a gree hour glass shaped plastic tube next to the Metamucil. Guest guest
Toi, My OB gave me the go-ahead to take Colace with low dose senna in it. I buy it at Walmarts in the Equate brand. It's a pill not a gelcap. I take 2 in the am and 2 in the pm, plus added fiber to keep me going. I tried Benefiber, but it only made me more constipated! Hope this helps.
