Guest guest
Heres a thought for the bolts. Ya know the gripping stuff the comes on a roll that you can line your cabinets with? It feels a little spongey.. I dont know what its called, but it seems that if you superglued it to the bolts, then cut the excess material off.. you should have a decent covering that would allow some traction when the baby stands up. Theres also the thick pieces of rubber that are used for opening jars that might be helpful. Guest guest
What a great idea!! One of our friend's uses a ton of that stuff on his boat so things don't move around. I will give it a try...it does have holes throughout though, I wonder what the best kind of glue would be?? Thanks for the suggestion! ) > > Heres a thought for the bolts. Guest guest
Didnt think about the holes. Maybe RTV sealant from an auto parts store would work.. but then with that stuff, youd have to leave the shoes sitting for awhile so that it could dry. Lori > > > > Heres a thought for the bolts. Guest guest
Lori, do you think that clear caulking stuff might work? It dries kind of rubbery, I may try that as I could probably peel it off if needed. Thanks for the ideas ) > > > > > > Heres a thought for the bolts. Guest guest
I pad the bar with the pipe foam all the way to the ends, over the bolts. If you cut the top of the pipe foam under the soles of the shoes so it fits flatter you can get the pad to the end of the bar. Then I tape the whole thing up and put a few layers on the ends where the bolts are. The only part of the brace that hits anything is the soles of the shoes themselves. The rest of the brace is totally padded. Kori & Darbi 3/03 - DBB 12hr/day Size 4 Markells Already, What A Big Foot Girl! At 10:52 PM 10/27/2004, you wrote: >I am with you there! Guest guest
I think that stuff is too fragile for this purpose. Or at least Darbi would trash it with a quickness, maybe not other babies. I'd thought of it but I figured I'd have to use 3 or 4 layers and lots of rubber cement to make it durable enough. Kori At 03:53 PM 10/28/2004, you wrote: >What a great idea!! Guest guest
hummm... silicone would probably work very well. And add to the durability. good idea! Guest guest
Yes, I think the caulking stuff might work too and it doesnt smell as bad as the RTV. I think the caulk would dry faster too! In fact, that might be all you need on the bolts.. just put the caulk there, let it dry and it would be its own protective cushion. Lori > > Lori, do you think that clear caulking stuff might work? Guest guest
I ended up removing the padding from our bar because it was round and he couldn't stand up on it. s. Guest guest
Everyone- Just be cautious about using non-toxic products and be wary of choking hazards. We all know how little ones like to " sample " just about everything. > > > > > > > > > > Heres a thought for the bolts. Guest guest
I did. But I have lost a bunch of pics recently and will probably have to take another one. I sent it to the CFPics list about 7w ago if you were subbed then. LMK if you can't find it and I'll take another. Guest guest
Do you use the gold bar or the red bar on your little one...we use the gold bar and unscrew the shoes each time we take off the brace. It is kind of hard to picture how you apply the padding - Do you have any pictures of your method of padding...it would be much appreciated!! Thanks much! > > > >I am with you there!
