Guest guest
LOL Francesca, I've just remembered that DS1 (who turned 4 just before DS3 arrived at the end of March), wanted to call the baby after any of the engines in the book. Then he decided that we should call it after either him or DS2 and I couldn't convince him that there'd be a lot of confusion if we had two children with the same names! We decided on Euan but didn't discuss this with either of the boys before the birth - was quite happy with this straightaway and Nicky (who was just two) couldn't pronounce it for a while - he still says " Ooooan " . Hannah Baby names DD1 (aged 3) is insistent that my Freddy Foetus will be called " Rosie Rose " when it is born!! Regardless of whether or not it is male or female!! (Although she did say she might call it Raspberry if it is a boy!). Did anyone else have siblings coming up with weird names? Will it cause her trauma if I disregard her choice - ;0)) Francesca
Guest guest
Phoebe insisted the baby in my tummy (I e Eloisa) was called DUCK... my friend's son called their baby for bibbob (no idea) and another friend was adament that it was a boy that would be called joaney... (explain that one) none of them seem to have been traumatised but the arrival of Eloisa, or Ellie ;o)... Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already. ----- Original Message -----

Guest guest
When I was expecting No 2 baby my first son, aged 41/2 thought 'Three Piece Suite' would make a lovely name. When we hinted it wasn't suitable he came up with 'Carwash' instead. Needless to say, we didn't go with either suggestion! Then while pg with DD2, DD1 thought Freda would alliterate with our surname perfectly! Guest guest
Did anyone else have siblings coming up with weird names? > Will it cause her trauma if I disregard her choice - ;0)) DS1 has decided on Barry or Jimmy and DS2 likes Lenny!!! I tthink i will have to disappoint both of them LOL! Obviously don't expect a girl as they just looked blankly at me when i suggested there might be a slight possibility. Guest guest
When my step-sons mother was expecting her triplets, he (6yrs) wanted them to be called Poppy, Peggy and Why bird, from playdays! Funnily enough the middle name of one of them is Poppy, although the other names his mum chose are far more unusual (Bayley, Romany Autumn and Velvet Poppy) than the ones that ss chose! He also sounds really funny trying to pronounce 'Romany' comes out Ronamy and he just can't get it right! :-)) Still each to their own! Guest guest
I had a friend in the US from Long Island (New York) and her older siblings decided she should be named Ida, since their last name was Warner. Guest guest
Snap. I often get greeted in the morning with " lets be pussy cats/dinosaurs etc " ....DS1 will say " you, be a baby pussy cat (to DS2), you be mummy pussy cat (to me) and you be daddy pussy cat (to DH). We don't get to vary our roles, and from what I can gather mummy pussy cats are generally expected to behave as mummy humans....except we are pussy cats, until we become something else of course! Ho hum. phine (Mum to nearly 4 & Ben nearly 3, Cambridge NCT) DS frequently goes through phases of *being* someone, or usually something else. Guest guest
Yup - exactly the same here! It must be a boy thing or an age thing. Does anyone with similar aged girls go through this daily ritual? phine, I've been wondering - is getting excited about starting school soon? Guest guest
Well, we had tears today as I mentioned it in relation to something like " you'll have to do this when you go to school " (stupidly) . So he said he didn't want to go. However, up until now he's been Ok. However, he is so very young (not 4 until end August) and will start school the week after that, *I* am certainly feeling apprehensive about it, so haven't built it up massively. I'm hoping it will be not so very different from nursery for him. Is really excited? phine (Mum to nearly 4 & Ben nearly 3, Cambridge NCT) phine, I've been wondering - is getting excited about starting school soon? Guest guest
My brother wanted Rosie for our sister (after the new baby in a > cartoon, Joe) and he was very upset that she wasn't. I always said from the age of 4 that any brother had to be 'Joe the lorry driver's son' - but i ended up with a Joe of my own instead (as my parents were unwilling to supply a younger sibling). Actually my Joe looks very like the cartoon one! When dad remarried they asked stepmum's children for name ideas - and used one of them () but didn't use any of mine (andra) - and considering the fact that i was 21 and they were 12 and 13 i was rather miffed!
