Guest guest
I have read on the group from those that have suffered naseau and from what I have gathered it is better to eat small amounts of food throughout the day. When I had it I lived on crackers, anykind of them and it helped tremendously. I sure hope this passes for you. I was blessed to only have it about 3 weeks and then NOTHING, I did not even feel prego, it was actually scary. I am now almost 15 weeks and feel the baby move a bit so I feel better Good Luck to you and I hope something works for you. Guest guest
, I too am 9 months post op and 8 weeks pregnant. I am so nauseous all day long. It's so miserable. I was like that with my other 2, but worse. I have not thrown up yet, but have come super close many times. I take Phenergan and Zantac to help me get through the day. I would experiment with the Phenergan. If you're not used to taking it, it can be pretty strong. I would start with a half of a pill and take it first thing in the AM then go back to bed and let it kick in before getting up and moving around. Just do whatever makes you feel better. The Phenergan suppositories just don't work as well for me. Try and drink whatever you can. That's the roughest part for me. My water consumption has halved since pregnancy because I just can't get it down with all the nausea. I really worry about that. I shave ice and eat it that way. And I try and eat ice chips. Good luck and hang in there. You're not alone! 9 months post -op -107 pounds 8 weeks pregnant with number
Guest guest
Thank you so much for your reply. I just felt " good " enough to get a shower and run to Walmart to pick up my Rx for Phenergan. My PCP wrote me a RX for the liquid so I smelled it first to make sure it didn't smell of syrupy sugar and then let her fill it. It really is a generic. The pharmacist told me it would make me sleepy - that's one reason my PCP wrote the liquid so I could work with different doses and see how it will work. ANYTHING HAS TO BE BETTER THAN THIS NAUSEA!!! I'm also not throwing up but I haven't pushed anything either. Glad to know that there are SEVERAL of us on here that are in the same boat. I was just wondering if the gastric bypass surgery had made me be nauseous all day but I'm hoping it's just that the baby will be a girl as I already have a boy. The surgery does make it harder to eat certain things you may crave for fear of dumping. I'm also wanting to eat the craziest foods! I've looked all over for Garlic pickles. Bought some pickled okra while ago and the list goes on and on. I remember with my first pregnancy that the little cheeseburgers from Mcs were one of the only foods that would settle my stomach. Chocolate milk also helped but those just are not on my life after gastric bypass diet now. I have done the low carb chocolate milk but it gave me pretty bad gas - I have enough problems without that right now! LOL Smiles, > , > > I too am 9 months post op and 8 weeks pregnant. Guest guest
Now, this subject I could write a book on! I am one of the unlucky very few that has what is called hyperemesis gravidarium ( a severe form of morning sickness). It was completely diasabling for the first 3 months. I am 37 weeks now and still on meds so I am not wretching everday. I was sick with my first child everyday as well, but could just puke and get on with life. Now, with re-routed plumbing I can't throw up and you just feel pukish all day. There's an article on this condition in the Feb. issue of ePregnancy magazine. I hope for your sake that's not what you have. I tried all the home remedies that could be tried. I ended up on Zofran and Reglan.....now just on one Zofran every morning. I wish you luck in finding relief. Slone Lap RNY 6-23-03 pregnant at the time of surgery C-section only 10 days away! Guest guest
Hi there , Zofran has been a life saver for me. I was flat on my back for the first 3 months. I was hospitalized 3x's for dehydration, etc. Then, we found the right combo of drugs for me. I'm down to only one Zofran every morning and it's made all the difference in the world. > > > I am now 9 months after gastric bypass, almost to my goal weight > > and > > > 6 weeks pregnant.
