I guess I should introduce myself :)

My name is and I had WLS (the RNY Gastric Bypass, open

procedure) on March 28, 2003 and have lost 173 lbs. I am about 30-40

lbs from my ideal goal weight but have recently found out that I am

pregnant. I am in my 7th week, and very thankful I found out so early

so that my prenatal care can be very concentrated due to my WLS. I

read the links at the opening page and am very pleased with what I

have researched about post wls pregnancies. It eases my mind a lot :)

My husband and I did this together in hops that it would help us

conceive, and we were very correct that it DID! My pcos has all but

diasppeared and I felt normal for the past 10 months with cycles 28

days apart on the dot! WOOHOO! I guess thats why we are pregnant now

huh? *giggle*

As you can see I am thrilled and very talkative, so I hope this group

helps me out with any questions I might have. My OB suggested I do

that 6 small meals thing and I shunned it because I have been told

since WLS to not snack or get in the habit. I think from what I have

read I did the right thing. I feel much better just eating a few

meals and having a glass of skim milk or something high protein for a

snack, like almonds or jerky every once in the while.

Anyway, thaks again for listening and I hope to gain a lot of info

out of this site! Ohhhh and one more thing, I already had my first

ultrasound and the baby is 1/4 " long from head to tail and the

heartbeat is 150! AMAZING!!! :)
