Guest guest
I colored my hair the whole time I was pregnant with my son and I have done it throughout this pregnancy. No problems.. I think that information comes from an Italian study and they just aren't sure on the effects...but people have been coloring there hair forever and I don't see anybody complaining from the 40's, 50's, 60's or 70's about problems with their lives because their mother colored her hair. Hi all I was wondering about coloring my hair. I had read that 1.)it wasn't safe during the first trimester, and 2.)that the dye doesn't take as well (or soemthing like that) due to our hormone changes etc. Can anyone shed some light on this please? Guest guest
I am not advocating- I am just relaying what *I'VE* done.. I have been coloring my hair about every four weeks since I got pregnant. I normally had been doing it about every six weeks, but since my hair has been growing so dang fast, I need it sooner now. The only difference I noticed when I first got pregnant was that my hair seemed to " grab " kinda orangey (I am a brunette who dyes red)so I started to mix the red with some auburn brown and that took care of any problem. I buy mine at the beauty supply and mix my own. As for it being safe, my thought was always that A) as long as I wasn't drinking it.. and as long as I wasn't stuck in a confined space sucking in pure fumes, I'd be fine. Just my opinion tho. Guest guest
HI! I'm a hairstylist and I colored all the way through my pregnancy. I have also colored many people during theirs. Some docs are totally ok with it. Some have said try not to in the first trimester. Either way, I haven't known anyone who's had a problem they could link to hair coloring. I never really noticed a big difference in the way color took. They used to say the same thing about perms and plenty of pregnant women still got perms. Just my opinion of course! And my experiences... Hope this helps. Lori Milwaukee, WI > > Hi all > > > > I was wondering about coloring my hair.
