Guest guest
This doesn't exactly apply to this list totally but since I have shared with you guys my struggles with doctors and getting proper medications, especially while pregnant, I thought I would share my good news today. This last weekend was awful for me with my arthritis and fibromyalgia flaring up terribly. I have been handling this ok all during the pregnancy, but in the last few weeks it has been getting really bad and hit my ankles over the weekend making it difficult to walk. Since it has been getting worse not only has it been making me suffer more in pain and whats worse is it makes sleep difficult and when I don't sleep well then it flares up my fibromyalgia. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and I have pain medication that I have been taking, authorized by my OB and my perinatologist, but it didn't help at all, and I'm on very strong pain meds. I have been on a quest to get prescribed Enbrel even before I got pregnant but with all the moving around we have had to do with my husband being in the Army I couldn't get a doctor to prescribe it. Well, today, after being on this quest since August 2002 I have finally gotten a rheumatologist to prescribe it to me. I feel like I did when I found out that I finally got approved for WLS, and believe it or not it only took me 8 months to get that approved. I am hoping to pick up the prescription by tomorrow, or at least by Wednesday, many people have experience some relief after the first dose. I am asking everyone to pray for me that that is the case for me so I can cut down on my other meds and maybe feel " normal " for the first time in years. I have always dreamed that I would lose weight and be able to move to garden, play sports, and most of all play with my children. After all these years of dreaming it looks like (I'm scared to say it) I may be able to actually DO all the things I have always dreamed about!
