Any suggestions to decrease this activity? He usually wears sweatpants for easy toileting but maybe jeans or overalls would keep his hands out. >> Hi , Does he have yeast allergies? I was just reading " Is This Your Child " by Doris Rapp, MD, and one of the symptoms of candida overgrowth or yeast allergy was inappropriate genital touching. Of course, all three of my boys were very enamored of their privates! HA! Cheryl
Guest guest
A little Anti Fungal Jock Itch spray might do the trick. Miriam

We just retested his stool this week and sent it in after heavy doses of colostrum and pro culture gold. I am interested in Doris Rapp's book. Where did you find it? Thanks >> Hi , I was telling my dentist/chiropracter I see for TMJ about , and he loaned me the book. I can already tell I want to add it to my library. It has a lot of good allergy info, but not specifically directed towards autism. I've discovered allergies in my two normal kids due to this book. The IBSN is 0-688-11907-7. The publisher is Morrow and Company, Inc., 1350 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10019. The price on the back jacket is $12. Cheryl .. If your child is high functioning, you might try a social story. Anyone with any better suggestiongs, please post to the list.
Guest guest
My son still does this, and we have just instructed him that it is ok to do what he does in his bedroom, but no where else. This is human nature, and it is not " awkward " , or " wrong " (although 50 years ago they used to sell spiked gloves NO kidding) it is very natural. SO inorder to make my son not feel ashamed, we explained that going to the bathroom is done in the bathroom, and being " naked " is done in our bedroom...he has not done it again " in view " , and he can do what he wants in his room. He is 7, and that is the time for exploration, although, it starts at 3, and G-d knows until the day they die it goes on -Shari whcmccain@... wrote: > In a message dated 3/21/01 9:38:50 PM Eastern Standard Time, ajhstop@... > writes: > > > Any suggestions to decrease this activity? Guest guest
I can't believe this is posted as I was just talking with someone about this today. My daughter used to fiddle the diddle all the time. When we went casein free in November this behavior began to subside. However, we have been doing MANY interventions so I thought that she was just getting better. But then last week she was on Zithromax (antibiotic) and WOW did the masturbation routine get bad. But when I mentioned this to a friend she said maybe it was just a yeast infection and she is scratching not fiddling the diddle. I never even thought of that scenario! Of course I wasn't GFCF at the time all of the behavior was so bad. We have only just started the complete removal of the gluten this week and already the behavior is gone again.
