Guest guest
Hi guys As far as the knee pain, I am a physical therapist as well. Arthritic knees usually get better wtih weight loss surgery, but often times, your muscles become imbalance and you start to walk , sit and stand different. This can cause different stresses on different parts of your body. In my case it was my back as my stomach muscles are so non supportive now and now that I'm getting bigger again....voila.NO SUPPORT. If you are sitting too long and have trouble getting up, that is typically a knee cap problem. Do you cross your legs when you sit? See how you are sitting in your chair ( facing one way vs the other) there are some stretches you can do,even while you are sitting to reduce the stress on your knees. Cross your legs and pull your crossed knee to ward your chest. That will help stretch the IT Band and the lateral muscles. You can also pull you heels behind you as far as you can in the chair and stretch your quad muscles. Stretch your hamstrings by putting one leg out in front of you so the knee is straight and lean forward. Do this particularly if you are sitting for longer than an hour. The hip flexors are particularly the fiends in knee pain, however its hard to stretch it from a sitting position. Hope this helps somewhat
