I've been reading posts for several months trying to learn everything

I could before trying to conceive so I could be ready and educated on

what to expect after Roux En Y surgery.

I can now officially say that I am pregnant! I took a pregnancy test

at home and then later (the Thursday before my period was to start)

and all was positive. I'm right at 4 weeks so I will wait a few

weeks before seeing my reproductive endocrinologist. He performed

surgery on my ovaries last October to clear one of a dermoid cyst and

the left fallopian tube was adhered to the left ovary. He wanted me

to get pregnant right away but I assured him I needed to get closer

to my goal weight which I have - I now weigh 165 and would like to

get down to 150. My husband and I tried during January and bam - it

happened. We're so excited!

Now I'm depending on (my doctor's of course) and mainly this group to

help guide me, answer questions, be supportive and let me be a part

of this group. My doctors have NO IDEA what having gastric bypass

surgery is like. I really relied on my WINGS online support group to

answer questions and guide me thru after my gastric bypass.

I already have been through a pregnancy before this surgery. I know

what being pregnant is like but I'M SO UNSURE HOW IT WILL BE

DIFFERENT AFTER THIS SURGERY. Please let me know. I'm excited to

read that a lot of people are not gaining weight because that is my

main concern now. I don't want to end up where I started before my

surgery.

I'm taking 1 prenatal chewable and 2 Flintstones vitamins a day

along with folic acid. I also give myself B12 shots. I currently (at

4 weeks) have a bad cold and a yeast infection and have been

instructed to take Monistat 3 day treatment. It's so bad because I

flew out to Colorado to go skiing with my husband and shared our good

news with him and I'm sick, have yeast and can't go into the hot

tub! What a vacation! But we're very excited.

Sorry this is so long. Just need a little help along the way. Oh,

I've also had 1 miscarriage at 7 weeks in 2002 (before surgery) so

I'm a little bit of a nervous wreak about that happening again.

When did you start experiencing morning sickness or nausea?

Thanks,

and Smiles to all,

:)
