Guest guest
Hi KK, We are in it currently for the foot flexion. His heels are so tight wwe've lost some of the correction. So they work on stretching him and are keeping very close with Dr. Ponseti. Wow, reading about your daughter confirms that I have a very laid back son too. didn't roll over until about 6 1/2 to 7 months. But that was also around his first surgery...maybe that had an affect on it? He didn't learn to sit up until 8 months, not because he couldn't, but because he was just too darn lazy! hehe! ) Personally, as long as the therapist is willing to communicate with Dr. p and send photos and evals, I would strongly suggest putting her in physical therapy. It has done wonders for . They work with him on standing as he's already 13 months and not standing on his own yet. But mostly they do stretching. As much as he hates it, it is so good for him. I don't want to go through another tenotomy and more casting again. They will work with you on encouraging all of her milestones. If you've got a good one. Call Dr. P or whoever you are consulting and get their opinion. In mine, any extra help is worth it! Guest guest
Well, Gavin just started pt today but not for any problems with his feet. The feet are great! He just doesn't want to sit up at all! The PT said it was the strangest thing she's ever seen! He rolls just fine and started rolling with the bar on at 5 months but now he's 13 months and doesnt want to sit up. We have no idea if it's just because of his treatment or not. It's a mystery.... Guest guest
Eryn, What type of exercises are they doing with Gavin? Did they mention how his muscle tone is? They say Ava's is great but just feel she needs a little help. Does Gavin crawl yet? KK > > > > Just curious about the baby's on board who have or had PT. Guest guest
KK- Well, Gavin's Ped Neurologist thinks he has hypotonia, but the PT says his tone is fine, He just does'nt want to sit up for more than 30 seconds. He's trying to crawl but cant seem to get coordinated enough to do it. He gets up on elbows and knees and rocks but can't get all the way up. I'm not sure what to do now. He's being referred for more pt since they don't have room for him at the hospital so for right now, I'm just trying to help him sit up more.
