pregnant before surgery

Hi all! I'm new to this group. I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks

after my gastric bypass. What a shock!! Their urine test, done the

day before surgery, did not detect a pregnancy. Anyway, I am 2 1/2

months post-op and 3 1/2 months pregnant. So far, it's been pretty

hard - being sick and adjusting to the new digestive system. I've

been worried about the baby, of course. I see 3 different doctors

and they all are saying that the baby and I are doing great. I feel

like I have so little knowledge about this pregnancy combined with

having the bypass. There is a lot of info about pregnancy after

surgery, but what about pregnancy during surgery. If anyone out

there is in a similar situation, please contact me. Thank you.

My situation is similar to yours--I had RNY July 17, 2003 and became

pregnant after 2 months. I did not know I was pregnant until December

18th at which time I was already 31/2 months. The craziest thing was

that I had my tubes tied only a year before. When i didn't have a

period i really thought it was due to the rapid weightloss i was in.

I went in for an ultrasound the day after my 34th birthday and found

out i was having twins.I too am worried about the babies developement.

I think all will be fine. I wish you the best of luck on your

pregnancy!
