Guest guest
I can pick up my own heartbeat on the baby doppler in my abdomen. I think there is a main artery that runs thru there so you may be feeling your own heartbeat. The other movement is most likely the little baby moving around in you I love that feeling HUGS, ROBIN, NY Age- 41 Due Date- #4 July 27th, 2004 OPEN RNY 10-18-02 378/246/170??? Guest guest
Hello Group, I have also been lurking for awhile but now have a question for the group, if anyone can help me out on this. I've read many of you say that the first time they felt the baby move they thought it was their own heart beating. I didn't understand what they meant until recently when I thought my heart was beating unusually fast and hard and realized the " feeling " was coming from my abdomen and NOT my own heart. Am I experiencing the baby's heartbeat internally? It was the strangest feeling. Not movement, but a regular beating. I'm 17 weeks and I do feel the baby flopping around in there and have felt it moving for the past 2-3 weeks, but this " beating " sensation is new. Any explanations? Guest guest
Hi Indigo, I think that movement that is simular to " beating " is your baby having hiccups! I know that I was told this when I was pregnant with my older daughters, I feel it occasionally with this little one I'm carrying now. Guest guest
Indigo, It could be hiccups... but when my baby has the hiccups, it isn't alwasy super fast. I do get that fast heartbeat feeling sometimes, and my doc said it was the back of my baby pressing so close and hard towards the outside of the womb, that I could probably feel his heartbeating. It only lasts for a few seconds when it happens, cuz he moves away, but it could be his heartbeat! :~) It could also be his/her hands scrabbling around in there, pushing on the womb walls. It's hard to say for sure, but one thing is for sure, your baby's on the move! :~) Sharon > Hello Group, > > I have also been lurking for awhile but now have a question for the group, if anyone can help me out on this.
