Sleep Sack

I just wanted to tell you all that yesterday I bought a sleep sack for Everett.

Well I used it last night and he didn't wake up ONCE all night long! Not even a

PEEP! In fact I kept waking up worried about him because he was so quiet.

Might just be a coincidence, but it sure seemed to keep him warm all night long,

and no blanket to lose or tangle in. :) It was less than $9 at wal-mart, in the

baby blanket section. I think they would be rather easy to make at home, too,

if you can't find one large enough for your child.

Woohoo!!! Love it when they start sleeping all the way through the night!

We just had a friend make Jonah a new sleep sack because the only ones we could

find in stores were too narow at the bottom for the FAB. It is gorgeous, super

soft fleece with velvet trim and mother-of-pearl buttons. I'll bet she'd be

willing to make one for anyone, would have to talk cost.

In any case, the sleep sacks have made a huge difference for us. I just slip

Jonah into his with his FAB and pjs, nurse him to sleep and put him in his

bed--no other covers required(though he does have a security blanket). He

usually wakes up at about 6am saying " I want mama " and I pull him into bed with

us then(his crib is right next to our bed)and he sleeps another couple of hours.

The sleep sack also pads the bar a little. What's not to like?

You know, I have one hanging in her closet with a bunch of other

outfits I couldn't bear to cut the feet off of...I will pull it out

and see if it is long enough for her bar. I hear anything that has to

do with a good sleep and I'm in hehe.

Everett is 13 months old, almost 14, and wears a size 9 mo. sleep sack! ha! He's

my little dynamo - but he seems to love this thing, using it again tonight.

I swear by these things! Once Devlin got too big for the little

ones, I found the " Halo " brand---they come in lots of sizes (but none

for me...), and they make them in fleece or cotton. You don't have

to worry about the baby getting tangled up or cold. She's been

sleeping through the night since she was only a few weeks old, and

it's always been in her sleep sack. Everyone must love them because

I never find them in the consignment shops and they go for close to

retail on ebay. I wish I was handy with a sewing machine---I envy

those who can make stuff like that!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I love the sleepsacks too! My son is 16 mths old and not small by

any means but still fits into the size L Halo Sleepsack. I just

ordered the XL to have ready for him. XL fits from 26-36 lbs. I

don't believe the ones in Wal Mart go up to this size. I

ordered mine off of babycenter.com.
