But now im 19 weeks pregnant with a healthy boy...so anything is possible, good luck to you > I'm over 2 months post op RNY and my periods haven't been normal in > over 15 yrs and I was told that I don't ovulate because of my weight > I had 1 healthy child 0ver 20 yrs ago and now that I'm losing weight > I was hoping I could get pregnant at least 1 yr after surgery. My > periods are real heavy now after surgery and I'm on the pill do you > think i will ever get PO again?? Guest guest
I had never had normal periods until about 5 months after my surgery, but I still wasn't ovulating according to the monitor (and serum progesterone tests)... even long before surgery with clomid I never ovulated until last October, 9 months post-op. I got pregnant in November, only the second time I have ever ovulated. I wouldn't worry if it takes a while to get normal, it certainly took me some time for my cycle to get going, but not long after that to get pregnant. Good luck! Guest guest
I bet you find yourself alot more fertile as the weight comes off. Do wait at least the one year though so you can get a majority of your weight off. I find I am much more fertile now I tried to get pg for years ands finally had twins, then a dd from clomid & IUI and then nothing until 2 miscarraiges and then this pregnancy. The last 2 pregnancies have been since weight loss surgery, right after I came off birth control I got pg and had a MC and I never went back on the BC and got pg again right away and am now 12 weeks monday So good luck making a baby and getting that weight off.
