Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Just wanted to know if any of you had heard about a natural product that you can rub on baby's gums to help with teething...my little girl is teething ferociously and is not quite 4 mo's and isn't holding a teething ring steady enough on her own yet, it looks like she is going to eat her whole hand most of the day lol. Thanks - & Grace

Guest guest
Hi Liana, How is little Kyken doing? It is a coincidence...he has RCF as well does he not? From reading one of your posts from a few days ago, I understand he is a big boy too. So is our Grace, I thought she must be 20 pds (bathroom scale said so too) but we had her weighed when we went to Children's on Tuesday and she is almost 18 pds, still a big girl for her age! Speak of the devil - gotta go - & Grace > > > > Hi Everyone, > > > > Just wanted to know if any of you had heard about a natural product > > that you can rub on baby's gums to help with teething...my little > > girl is teething ferociously and is not quite 4 mo's and isn't > > holding a teething ring steady enough on her own yet, it looks like > > she is going to eat her whole hand most of the day lol. > > > > Thanks > > > > - & Grace > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
That is good to hear! It's funny, I was talking to my mom and she said that I bit her once as a baby and she bit me back and I never did it again lol...won't be doing that with my little girl though. Still wondering about something to put on her gums...one of my friends mentioned something from a health food store that was supposed to be excellent, I will have to give her a call. If it works, I will let ya all know. - & Grace > > > > > > > > Hi Everyone, > > > > > > > > Just wanted to know if any of you had heard about a natural > > product > > > > that you can rub on baby's gums to help with teething...my > little > > > > girl is teething ferociously and is not quite 4 mo's and isn't > > > > holding a teething ring steady enough on her own yet, it looks > > like > > > > she is going to eat her whole hand most of the day lol. > > > > > > > > Thanks > > > > > > > > - & Grace > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
, We have used Hyland's homeopathic teething tablets with both of our children. They also make a gel , but I haven't tried it. I was surprised--and delighted--by what a difference they made in easing the crankiness. They can be hard to find, depending where you are, but a natural foods store is the place to start. We also use several other Hyland's products for colds and earaches. Under our pediatrician's supervision, we have successfuly treated all of our children's ear infections without antibiotics. Some of my friends have children who have been on antibiotics 6+ times before turning a year old. Also, Hannah used to do that same thing of stuffing her whole fist in her mouth, sometimes would try to get both fists in. It was cute, but so messy, her hands were always slobbery. And after all that, she didn't get her first tooth until she was over 8 months... Best of luck! Guest guest
Thanks Naomi, Grace has been on a mild dose of daily antibiotic since birth due to having one kidney. Until we could get in to see a specialist, they had to protect the right functional kidney. We went to see the specialist this past tuesday and he said he saw no reason to keep her on the antibiotic as her left (non-functional) kidney is cystic (formed as a group of cysts) and does not look to pose any threat to the health of her functional kidney. He did say to watch her for any signs of having an infection after we took her off the antibiotics. She had to have a cathedar inserted as part of the testing and this can cause an infection, she was such a little angle during the tests, poor little thing. She has been extra fussy lately with the teething so I would really like to have something to help with it so I am not running to the lab with a urine sample every time she is a bit extra fussy or runs a bit of a fever. Especially because I will have to use those impossible bags for collecting it - it took me NINE bags last time - just after she was born I had to take a sample and I had taken the stool softener at hosp so everytime she peed, a little poo came with it, it was SOOO frustrating, when I did finally get a clean sample, I carried it like liquid gold and poured it soooo slowly into the cup for testing, my hubby thought it was hilarious!!! I will definately try this product! Thanks again! - & Grace ) > > Hi Everyone, > > Just wanted to know if any of you had heard about a natural product > that you can rub on baby's gums to help with teething...my little > girl is teething ferociously and is not quite 4 mo's and isn't > holding a teething ring steady enough on her own yet, it looks like > she is going to eat her whole hand most of the day lol. > > Thanks > > - & Grace > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Liana, Sorry, I spelled your little guy's name wrong! n, what a beautiful name! I know what you mean about the hubby thing! If mine is not on the computer, he is playing PS2...I really wonder sometimes if they ever really grow up lol!! With my insurance through work, only the first pair of shoes and bar are covered 80% and I had to make the purchase and send the forms in for reimbursment...speaking of, I need to get those forms mailed off - what a pain in the butt! You will get the $ back right? Gracies left foot is definately bigger than her right as per usual, not that much though, I should get the tape measure out and measure. I will before I order shoes, did you see the post from re: little darling shoes? Too cute, and reasonable prices (dependant on shipping of course). I am going to try a pair of their leather walkers and will have to get a couple more pairs as a bundle of course, it's just the smart thing to do (I tell my hubby lol). Grace was born @ 8.4 and I thought I was going to pass out!! Mind you I was induced so labour was hard and fast and I didn't have any pain meds - with her having one kidney, didn't want to. But 10 pds,OOOUCH! Naiomi posted a mess about a natural product for teething, I think it is the one my friend had mentioned, I am going to try it for sure, not a happy little girl last night and I hate to give her tylenol if I don't absolutely have to. She seems fine during the day but lately at night - FUSSY! - & Grace ) > > > > > > > > > > Hi Everyone, > > > > > > > > > > Just wanted to know if any of you had heard about a natural > > > product > > > > > that you can rub on baby's gums to help with teething...my > > little > > > > > girl is teething ferociously and is not quite 4 mo's and > isn't > > > > > holding a teething ring steady enough on her own yet, it > looks > > > like > > > > > she is going to eat her whole hand most of the day lol. > > > > > > > > > > Thanks > > > > > > > > > > - & Grace > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
No I won't stop breast feeding when she gets her little teeth, I had way too hard of a time getting it going in the first place to let a few little teeth bother me lol! It took me a month of trying to get her latched on, pumping and feeding breastmilk with a bottle, trying to get her latched on pumping and pumping etc etc - thank God my mom was here for 3 weeks with me, she had 5 and was so supportive. - & Grace > If she bites you when she nurses give her a little flip on the nose and tell her no! . ... a time or two of that and she'll get the hint. Guest guest
Koris advice was right on. I nursed my first for 12-13 months and once you get over the initial biting thing, its not a problem. They learn not to do it and it doesnt really take too many times for them to get the picture. Elijah is 7.5 months now, still nursing and hes got 5 teeth now. He's teething really fast (cut 3 teeth in the last week along) and I know his gums hurt but he knows that if he tries to bite, it goes away. I also touch my finger to his mouth afterwards and say, " No biting, that hurts Mama " in a stern voice. If youve made it to the point of teething and youre still nursing.. chances are that your nipples are pretty tough anyway and its not going to feel like it would prior to nursing. Guest guest
ABSOLUTLY it is because of baby being tounge-tied...makes it much more challenging to get baby to latch on, NOT your fault at all!!! I had an issue with large N so it was much easier for Grace to latch after she grew a bit bigger. There are sooo many women who have problems getting breastfeeding started!! Guest guest
I found a tablet type teething product that my sister uses on her baby, you just put some in under the tongue and then the dissovle. I don't know the name but I'm pretty sure they were natural. They dissovle really fast so no worries about having themm chew on anything. Onc I get the name of the product from my sister I'll write another post.
