If is still willing to wear them, I would keep going. It can't

hurt! I believe some doctors say to stay in them as long as the child

will tolerate them. Longer is better. But please get others to verify

that. I could be wrong.

Amy,

There is variation depending on the individual case, I know, but I

believe they have been more frequently recommending wear to age 4 or

more, if well tolerated.

My daughter sees Dr. Ponseti. She is 4 (almost exactly a year older

than ) and is still in the brace at night. She could have

stopped at 4, but since I don't mind it, and she doesn't mind it, Dr.

Ponseti said he is all for us continuing wear a bit longer.

It might indeed be 'overkill,' but you never know which child will be

the one to relapse. Since my daughter doesn't fight me on wearing the

brace, we are continuing just to be on the safe side. I'd rather keep

it up, while wearing it is still part of our routine, rather than

having to face a potential relpase, and all that would involve, at

this age.

I always made it clear to Dr. Ponseti that I was willing to

continue..

P.S. It's morning, and Claire just woke up and came downstairs to

find me and crawl into my lap.. She awakened and took her brace off

on her own!
