Guest guest
Thank you to everyone for all of their good wishes :-) Mommy to 12/17/98 and Christian 1/30/04 _____ From: Gerace Sent: Friday, September 24, 2004 7:21 PM To: nosurgery4clubfoot Subject: Christian's tenotomy Everything went well today. Christian screamed from the minute we walked into the room to the minute we left! The difference in the dorsiflexion (sp?) was amazing. I was okay as long as I didn't look. I didn't know that stitches were going to be needed..I thought they just bandage it up and I must admit the blood on the cast was a little surprising even though Dr. H told me to expect it. When Dr. H was finishing up, Christian picked up one of the sterile sheets and crinkled it into a ball and threw it at his head! It was so funny, even Dr. H was laughing and you know, I don't hear him laugh too often. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL ALL OF THIS IS OVER!!! , How did Sara do??? Did the people at the desk give you a hard time with the appointment in three weeks also??? I have to call Sheila on Monday. Oh yeah, I have an 8 " bar that is no good for us anymore so if anyone needs it, let me know. Guest guest
and Christian-- I'm so glad to hear that things went well today. I too was very suprised at the amount of blood that seeped through the casts. There was more on one than on the other. I was told not to worry about it unless there kept being fresh blood showing up after the first 2 days We tried to keep Jonah's feet elevated while he slept(rolled up towel under the knees)to help keep the swelling down. He never seemed to be in any pain. Having the casts on for 3 weeks felt really long at the time. And I was just so eager to see how his feet would turn out. He crawled around in those things--looked like he was dragging around coffee cans or something--and tried to stand in them too! I do know where you're coming from with the feeling of just wanting it to all be over. I've gone through lots of just wishing I could have a " normal " baby with no casts, no FAB, no worrying about it all. Even sometimes now putting Jonah's FAB on at bedtime I think " when will this be over? " . There is comfort, though, in thinking about the parents all over the world putting the same shoes on their children every night. And comfort in knowing all of you. Guest guest
Hi , Glad to hear it all went well! You need to put Christian's little throwing incident in his baby book Amazingly these three weeks will pass quicker than you think! never made it to her 2-week DBB check yesterday. Went to the pediatrician instead for a 103.5+ temp --- double ear infection! UGGGHHH! We go Thursday now. Marilouise 9/9/03, LCF, DBB 23/7 Owen and 3/20/99 > Everything went well today. Guest guest
, Congrats! Glad the experience wasn't too traumatic!! Zoe hit the dentist because she didn't like her toothpaste, but the dentist wasn't laughing! Dr. Herzenberg did mention at the symposium when discussing the tenotomy that he puts in a couple stitches to minimize the amount of blood...although Dr. Ponseti does not... Best, Joanne W. Guest guest
Hi Naomi, Did putting the rolled up towel under Jonah's knees help him sleep better also? Christian will not crawl at all. He just rolls and rolls. How old was Jonah when he had the tenotomy? Was he crawling before he had it done? Guest guest
Hi , is doing better We did se the cardiologist this past week. There were no changes with her heart conditions. That is both good news and bad. The good news is that notjing is worse, the bad is that neither of the potentially self-resolving conditions have resloved. They are still not doing any sort of medical intervention since she is thriving and showing no ill effects from the conditions. It is all a wait-and-see scenario for now. Thank you for asking Marilouise 9/9/03, LCF, DBB 23/7 Owen and 3/20/99 > > Everything went well today. Christian screamed from the minute we > walked > > into the room to the minute we left! Guest guest
, Sorry for the delayed response. It was a crazy busy weekend! did the expected; screaming and crying until it was all over. She has been very happy since the event except teething and a cold that is irritating her right now. I now call her candycane girl. She only had the tenotomy on the right foot, so they put a plaster cast back on and then they put a red soft cast on the left foot. It is quite funny looking. So far no comments from strangers, but it is only a matter of time. said nothing about the 3 week appointment so I don't know if there was a problem. I am ready for the casts to be done!!! At the same time, I am not looking forward to the shoes and bar experience again. Shook Retail Operations Manager/Baking Instructor Vie de France Yamazaki, Inc. 2070 Chain Bridge Rd. Guest guest
, Sorry for the delayed response. Guest guest
Marilouise, I am glad to hear she is feeling better with her ears. As far as 's hear, do they expect to be waiting years to determine if intervention is needed?? Is there a possibility she will not need intervention at all? Mommy to 12/17/98 and Christian 1/30/04 _____ From: Marilouise Tozier Sent: Sunday, September 26, 2004 1:41 PM To: nosurgery4clubfoot Subject: Re: Christian's tenotomy Hi , is doing better We did se the cardiologist this past week.
