This appears to be related possibly to the type/brand of probiotic. I have heard good things about Culturelle. But if you are giving all this anti-yeast stuff, I would speculate that the complete lack of yeast in your child's gut, has allowed the bacteria to take hold. Perhaps reducing the probiotics and other yeast things would be best. For my kids, I basically removed ALL the yeast things and their bacteria went away. >> We have not used colloidal silver. I use one drop GSE on days two and three of each round [i give No-Fenol with the other enzymes before each meal every day]. That is my entire yeast protocol, but I have completed 31 rounds with my kids so they are rather far along. If I give more GSE, or if I try probiotics, my kids get bacteria. Andy Cutler does not recommend giving silver for children who are chelating, because it does increase the metal load for your child, and you already know your child is metal-toxic. However, a few parents report good results from just a few days [no more than 10] of using colloidal silver, followed by Culturelle, so you can consider that. Be careful of argyria, silver discoloration of the skin, which does occur for some people with use of silver. Dana
Guest guest
Thank you! I had not heard of not giving the probiotics -- I did not know they make a bacteria problem worse. My son is allergic to milk (hives, etc.) and when I tried Culturelle he reacted (hives all over his face). so when they say it is casein-free, it must not be. So we use Pro-Culture gold and Pro-Bio gold. However, I will definitely try backing off on some of the yeast things, especially the GSE. Thank you again! > > Hi, folks. > > > > My son has a tremendous overgrowth of clostridia. > > > I have some information on bacteria issues on this page > > http://www.autismchannel.net/dana/yeast.htm > > > We have been > > cycling garlic, biocidin, cranberry extract, Yeast Control, > > Lauricidin, No-Fenol + GSE, and others. If anyone > has used this for Clostridia, how much did you use (my son is 3.5 and weighs about 37 pounds), how often, between meals or with them, does the No-Fenol help in killing it off, etc.? Hi, I have been attending to a project that required 99% of my attention for the last 7 days (the other 1% was for bathroom breaks, LOL), so sorry I didn't answer sooner. My younger son " Blake " had a bacteria problem that we couldn't lick even giving 60 billion colony forming units of Culturelle a day and extra enzymes. So...eventually I tried the colloidal silver for 10 days (same as an antibiotic) and POOF! it was gone and has stayed gone for months. I was very impressed to say the least. The Culturelle and extra Peptizyde did help manage the bacteria but we couldn't give rid of it until the silver. I used Source Naturals brand from the health food store because that is all they carried (LOL) but it is a good brand. You can get the drops or the type you spray into the mouth. It does not have any taste (Blake calls it his special water). I used half an adult dose listed on the bottle, so one pump spray in the morning and one at night. My son weighed about 70 pounds and was 7 years old at the time, but I really don't know if this has to do with body size. The terrible smell dropped off by the fourth day, but continue the full 10 days. It was really easy and only cost $10 a bottle. Since you have already been doing things to kill bacteria now (like me) you may do very well with only 1 ten day round to wipe it out. The graying called argyria happens only if you use silver regularly over a long period of time. You may want to ask Andy C about a 10 day run with the silver, that isn't the same as regular use. The No-Fenol + GSE works on yeast, and I don't know if it helps bacteria or not. Bacteria are targeted by proteases because they are made of protein. No-Fenol doesn't contain any proteases. However, if you are using No-Fenol regularly, that may help keep extra waste down that the bacteria can feed and grow on. So that is a little something. Hope this helps. . Kirkman at one point indicated its Culturelle had tested positive for casein, but so far as I know that problem was resolved, altho you might want to send email or call and ask about current status. My kids can have casein again, and even other foods which previously caused hives, with HNI enzymes, so you can consider that also might work for your son. I was VERY surprised to learn it for my own kids! Dana
