It was nice meeting Darla and Krystena and their families - beautiful kids and nice people. I am drained with just one and Krystena and Darla has a lot more than I do. My hats off to them. We saw Dr. Whiteman and like him. I was glad I saw Darla right after the first time because like any "new" appointment it was stressful. It saddens me that some dr's reports still follows that "it is physcological." Dr. Whiteman first said that many drs said this which automatically makes me put on my boxing gloves but thankfully his expertise took him above some of the dr's comments. We saw him again Friday when most of test had come back and he said that there is nothing physcologically causing J.D.'s illness. It was sort of good too because he saw J.D. Wed after a long trip and Wed when he was better rested. The dr that got the paperwork and everything together was great she just sent all the info from the hospital. J.D. had 13 tubes of blood and a double skin biopsy. Dr. Whiteman was surprised that the drs here did not have J.D. on more mito cocktail. J.D. was depleted with vitamins a, c, e and carintines. He also said that if his immune was 0.1 degree lower that he would have had him in the hospital with an iv drip. It just upsets me that these were not being followed more closely here. I know that J.D.'s cardiologist last year asked if they ran certain tests. Dr. Whiteman did not have us leave until the prescriptions were filled there. He wants to see J.D. again in May. He said there is a immunologist that only sees 3 to 4 patients a year and she is going to see J.D. in May. He said May would be a good time to check his levels and set up all of the specialists he wants him to see. Dr. Whiteman likes to have things in writing. I personally think since there is so much that goes with mito and he said that my mind was going here and there. He was going head down with mito symptoms and I was going bottom up with mito. I sent Dr. Whiteman a 4-page letter with about 16 years condensed and a page with highlighted growth pictures (scanned) and captions. He said that he found this very helpful in putting the pieces together. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes for our trip. Praying that break through are soon for mito help.
