Grace was acutally brought to mito out of desperation to find anything wrong with her. She started showing abnormal symptoms at three weeks old. (Mainly reflux and severe colic.) At about three months she was in the hospital for dehydration. They had ran some bloodwork to see if it was a virus or not. In this bloodwork they checked her liver. Her enzymes were elevated so it was assumed a virus and they would go back down. After she was home we had them checked again and they had doubled, it just snowballed from there. The next few months she had so many issues her liver was at the failing point and nobody could figure out what was doing it. Eventually metabolic disorders popped into somones head and it was about the only thing she had not been tested for, so why not. Her preliminary metabolic bloodwork was off, so she was referred to Dr. Cohen. (We live in the Cleveland area, so CCF is where we go for everything.) It was the first appointment where Dr.Cohen was pretty sure it was mito. He scheduled the liver wedge and muscle biopsy. A few weeks later we had a diagnosis. Granted this whole process was over a year and almost daily trips to CCF.

Maybe you can just have your doctor call Cohen's office. He is very willing to talk to other doctors about mito. Best wishes for your family.
