Guest guest
We had a good visit with Dr. Whiteman and feel it was well worth the trip. I went prepared by typing a chronological order of Zipporrah's symptoms that we have seen and it really helped. If you want to see the page look at the attachment. Dr. Whiteman could see some issues before with her even from a distance. He saw dimples in her elbows, which he said could indicate low tone/lack of inutero activity issues. He talked about creases of the hand and how they can indicate the same issue. He looked at her toes and also commented that some Mito kids are known to have fused fingers or toes. He said her muscle tone was floppy and her movements were definitely asymmetrical as I had seen. He also said that some Mito children have wide set breasts which I am unsure if she does, but know I do. He noticed a lot of muscle tightness in her left side. He did not see any seizures while we were there but said to let him know if we saw any more strange movements. He felt it was definitely important to follow up on her symptoms with blood work, urinalysis, a neurology appointment, a GI appointment, and MRI/ MRA scans. Unfortunately that means more trips to Mayo. We are scheduled for the scans next Wednesday, the 21st, will see Dr. Renaud (neurologist) soon afterwards (temporarily scheduled for the 29th until talking w/ her to see if she has one closer to the scans), a couple appointments on the 2nd and 3rd of February, and of course the trip already planned for the 10th and the 11th. Way too much traveling but boy am I glad we only live 3 hours away. He does believe it is Mito related issues. Darla: mommy to Asenath, Zipporrah, and the gang... Get more from the Web.
