Guest guest
Darla, WE can not travel either. WE did Sam's MAW trip to Disney 2 yrs ago but in the past 12 months his care has gotten too complex. No other blood center would let us give the products at home so we just can not go anywhere. I never would have seen that coming - so I am thankful beyond thankful we took this trip as a family when we did. That leaves Zachary who had never had his wish. He wanted to go to Hawaii or Disney himself. He is only 11 so we told him that things might change. he did not seem to care and that was the end of it. Then we were reading an article about a boy who passed away from cancer. His MAW was to redo his rec room into an awesome place for friends and family to hang out. Zach, hates the outdoors and loves anything electronic and arcade style. he loves ping pong and pool. he loves TV and DVDs. etc. So he read this and his eyes started lighting up. He has not decided for sure but he thinks this will be his wish. I know others have done back yard play equipment, redo the bedroom of their dreams, sometimes above ground pools (depends on the state and the wish group in that state), shopping trips, meeting celebrities, ...our MAW organization publishes all the wishes granted so if yours does that it is a great place to get ideas if she is unsure.
