Several years ago, Disney started redoing their lines to make more of

them accessible to wheelchairs. People in wheelchairs are now expected

to use these regular lines. This has meant much less " line skipping "

than there was when we started taking Kaitlin and Emilie to Disney World

when they were little. I think there are still some lines that Disney

couldn't make accessible, so you can still go in a different way, but I

wouldn't count on doing this a lot.

That is where the Guest Assistance Card comes in. This is a paper that

you can get, free of charge, at the Guest Services desk at any of the

Disney parks. There are several different ones available, so you need to

ask them for the one that allows you to use the Fastpass line without a

Fastpass AND explain why Grace needs it. This particular Guest

Assistance Card is not for people who just have mobility issues; it is

for people with special circumstances, like someone who fatigues or

overheats easily because of a chronic illness and would be very limited

in how much they would get to do in the park if they had to wait in all

the lines. You can then show it at any of the rides that have a Fastpass

line, and your family can get into that line, which is usually shorter,

immediately without actually getting the Fastpass (a Fastpass has a time

stamped on it when you can come back to ride, kind of like a reservation).

Hope this helps. Have a great trip!

Bethany,

I don't think you would need to use the fast pass if you are using the handicapped entrance. Either way you are bypassing the lines. We went when Miranda was 3 1/2 (on our own) and walked on most things using the handicapped entrance. Disney was great about accommodating her. We also found even if she was not going on the rides, we would use the handicapped entrance to get her out of the heat and to wait inside, this worked exceptionally well if there was a baby swap room which was always nice and cool. ( not that anyone needs cool right now in PA where its UP TO 10 degrees!!)

Have a great trip.

hi all, this will be our second trip to disney....this one on our own! anna grace's wish trip was 1 1/2 yrs. ago and we enjoyed staying at gktw and visiting all of the parks.however, all this talk about using fast pass, or showing wish button has me thinking. we will not be on a wish trip, however, anna grace can not walk, so she will be in her special stroller....so we will be using the handicap entrance for all the things she can ride/watch. we won't need to do the fast pass thing right?(man, i wish spring was here....we have been like 10 degrees for the past couple of days)thanks, bethanymom to brennan 6, palmer & anna grace (leighs) 4Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
