Guest guest
Its very overwhelming, been there (and still wearing the T-Shirt LOL). I had Sam's hair results for 2 years before I did anything, kept thinking if I leave a while it will get easier, in some ways it did, trickle the info in, chew it over, get good resources etc - the Autism Mercury list files are awesome (thanks Moria!) However much you learn it still scarey when you start BUT it is doable, just do it slowly and safely. You have to be 'comfortable' about it, so don't rush, take your time. The first round is a bit like your first kiss (or mine anyway LOL) a bit of an anti-climax after all that stressing about it! Good luck Mandi in UK > Oh gee- (sigh) thank you. Guest guest
-This is how it was for us first going off the diet! I was soooo stressed about it but then-nothing (which in this case was a good thing lol.) I think its like that starting anything new with our kids-afraid we'll somehow do more harm than good. Guest guest
I did some thinking about it, and for now i really would like to try just using a sauna. Somehow it sounds the simplest and safest. I would appreciate any info anyone may have on where to get a sauna that doesnt cost an arm and a leg, and if anyone on this list has tried a sauna of any type could you please share your experience. Guest guest
Rivky, I don't have a sauna in my house. They can be pretty expensive. I work at a university gym so if I want to use a sauna, whirlpool or steam room, it is available. Try to do a search on the net by saunas. I bet you will get a lot of sites to look at. Guest guest
Your post is promting me to make a confession here on this list. I stopped the enzymes. it seemed to be working great for a while but then i had to finally admit things started falling apart and i dont know why. It was a very difficult decision to make, but i just dropped all the enzymes and let him eat as much gluten as he gets. This is about a week or so. His behavior is no worse and maybe a little better. And it is STILL better than before i started the enzymes altogether. Can anyone figure this out?? He was getting 2 pep and 2 zymes with every meal which contained gluten, and he had no gluten between meals. Rivky Re: Rivky - Chelation > -This is how it was for us first going off the diet! I recently discovered that my kids can't have corn, even with enzymes. Over the years, I have removed and added back corn many times, never seeing any difference. But a few months ago my kids had regression which I traced to the corn. I removed all the corn and now they are doing great! So consider that it might be another food item, and not gluten, that is your child's main food problem. Also, your son may not have tolerated the enzymes. You can consider AFP Peptizyde and/or No-Fenol if you want. Dana
