Guest guest
Hi and , Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know that I will keep in my prayers for a successful tube placement! I also hope her recovers quickly! I also want to offer any help that I can, since you were so nice when I first joined this group. Chelsea has been tube fed 4 years now, and we have also dealt with the weight gain issue. She was 3 when hers was placed and she gained 10lbs that first month on a 1000-1200cal/diet. She was slowly taken down to 600cal/day and she is still at that intake, appx. She started out on Pediasure and was on that for 3 years, but I was never happy with it. She was always constantly mildly constipated, lethargic and still gained too much weight. When she hit 55lbs at 6 , her drs talked about cutting cals even more, but that is when I decided to transition her to a blended vegan diet. She has been on it for just about a year and is doing much better; she has a bm at least 1x/day, has more energy, and we have finally gotten control of her weight. I still give her about 12oz of fresh veggie juice per day as snacks. If will be getting formula, I wopuld definatly encourage you to continue giving him juice. If you have any ?'s about her diet please feel free to ask! Again, I hope all goes well with 's button placement. Take care!! e, Chelsea's mom(nonspecific mito)
