Guest guest
--Sue, My sons bowel movements used to be similar to what you describe for your son. When we treated yeast they got " feathery " and sometimes narrow and sometimes like raindrops. I think this is yeast. The narrow bowel movements I read are bowel inflamation and I guess this makes sense because if the lining of the bowel were inflamed they would be narrower. After treating yeast heavily the featheryness went away but they were still on the light yellowish to orange side and soft. I feel they are too soft if you need major cleanup when they are potty trained. When we got yeast under controll and added no-fenol we finally achieved what I consider " normal " bowel movements, darker than orange, formed well, don't explode when you hit the flusher and do not leave much clean up afterwards. (yeahaa!) I do however have to say that I sometimes check the look of my own to try and get a perspective LOL! and one day I was helping my best friends 3 year old on the potty and found myself comparing her bm to my sons to see how different they were. Between checking bowel movements and to see if he has a red anus (yeast sign) I hope my son doesn't end up pre-occupied with it all later in life, we joke that maybe someday he will be a proctologist or a GI specialist! Good luck and I hope this helped. Patti I- In @ .., " masktharrett " <mtharret@r...> wrote: > I think that both my kids have stool problems. My son's have always > been soft to diarrhea. Guest guest
I had to chuckle when you wrote: Between checking bowel movements and to see if he has a red anus > (yeast sign) I hope my son doesn't end up pre-occupied with it all > later in life, we joke that maybe someday he will be a proctologist or a GI specialist! -- About a month ago, my son had a yeast flare up, and so I was checking him after everything he ate to see what was aggravating the red ring around the anus, and finally he said " oh nooo, here we go again, Mom is hypnotized by my bottom " ! :-) Our poor kids! Laurie -- When my son followed an Ayurvedic (vegetarian diet, based on the dosha, or constitution of the person), we had to check to make sure that he had pooped, because there was virtually no smell! I think meat eaters with poor digestion have the most " aromatic " poops. I will say that the enzymes (especially the No-Fenol) have made things alot more pleasant around our house! Feathery/fluffy/stringy for my kids is yeast. Acid smell and/or watery for my kids is bacteria. When I added gluten back into their diets, the color darkened. I guess NO one I know has normal stools then. Why are there shelves and shelves of bathroom air-fresheners? I think poop stinks--that's a fact of life. I know though, that there is a difference in the quality of that stink. Before enzymes (and especially before No-Fenol), you couldn't go near the bathroom for a while when my son was done. In fact, I dreaded if we had guests in the house when he had to go because it was so overwhelming. The whole upstairs stank. Now, he doesn't smell like roses, but when he's done cleaning up and flushes, the smell doesn't linger and it pretty much seems to be contained to the bathroom. Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
Maybe some brave and enterprising person could collect poop pics and put up a sort of reference chart for poo. The only poo i have ever seen is my own and my children's and until recently, I avoided them as much as possible so I have no idea what normal is. __________________________________________________

Are you sure? It is a description I read once, and I believe it. I never know my kids have pooped except when they come up and tell me [or I check the ones with diapers who " forget " to tell me]. The only times I can smell it, are when they are on-round with ALA, or if they ate a " bad food " without enzymes. I guess NO one I know has normal stools > then. Why are there shelves and shelves of bathroom air-fresheners? Because people nowadays are exposed to all sorts of environmental metals and toxins, and/or eat foods high in artificial ingredients. > I think poop stinks--that's a fact of life. It is nowadays, yes. Dana
