high heart rate and respiratory rates

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. We finally got a pulse

ox for Will, and although we are finding that his sats are running a

little lower than normal(92-88), what we are seeing more consistently

is his heart rate up around 130 (laying down and resting) and a

respiratory rate anywhere from 42 - 54. Will is 2 1/2 so I know these

numbers are fairly high for his age. Anyone have any ideas. My mom's

a nurse and she thinks it could be a sign of acidosis, but isn't really

sure. We see Will's PCP tomorrow, but she's clueless and will tell us

to call one of his specialists, not sure which one to call though.

He's been really grumpy and whiney for about 2 1/2 weeks, and that's

when we've been seeing this the most, so not sure if it ties in or not.

He just really looks and acts like he's not feeling good.

Thank you for any ideas anyone might have,

J.
