Guest guest
Thank you everyone for your input! I got a lot of great information. Deb, I called and she said they tell most parents to plan on staying the extra night so that they do not miss thier " angel flight. " But since we are driving, it is left up to parental discression. But I think we will stay an additional night (thanks Dorothy). BTW> we live in Piedmont, SC (right out side of Greenville). It kinda stinks that it is the weekend of Easter. I was looking forward to Hailey wearing her fru-fru dress to church. We will still go on Sunday if she feels like it. Is the biopsy REALLY painful for them? How do they normally control the pain? What is the average lenght of recovery? I am getting soooo nervous and afraid, but also elated that things are finally starting to move along. Thanks for all the support. You guys are a lot more helpful than you can ever realize. Sharon, mom to Hailey (2 1/2), suspected mito
Guest guest
Sharon, I bet you will still be able to have Hailey wear her fru fru dress. When Gracie had her biopsies done (muscle and liver wedge) she was only down for a few days. Honestly, I think her stomach hurt more than her leg, because she was walking the next day pretty comfortably. The next couple of days she needed pain medicine but she was playing and doing well. I was told by a nurse at the hospital that they literally have had children with muscle biopsies walk out of the recovery room. I guess it is supposed to feel like a charlie horse. Best wishes, I will pray that everything goes well and you get the results you desire.
Guest guest
Sheldon's muscle biopsy was in December. He didn't seem to have a lot of pain and the recovery period was only a few days, he did well with it. He's also 2 1/2. Thank you everyone for your input! I got a lot of great information.
