Guest guest
Debra, I don't know why it is not accepting emails. Try edutherapist @hotmail.com or jodi.zwain @verizon.net. Perhaps you have an email address that I mistakenly blocked. I get so many junk emails, I could have by mistake added yours to the list and not realized it. Sorry to be a damper, but in all frankness, you need to wait until you are 12-18 months out from surgery before trying to conceive... otherwise you run into some major risks... you might want to do some research in this area, first! :~) Welcome again! Guest guest
Melinda, Smart woman! :~) I wish I had planned this pregnancy... I was 16 months post op when I got pregnant, quite by accident/suprise, too. I had never made the wls/pregnancy connection... I had to scramble to find things out, and worry like heck that I started early enough, when I wish I could have started pre-natals, etc. prior to conception. sigh... I am sorry you have had to suffer miscarraiges and I will pray for you a healthy pregnancy for June. I am sending baby dust your way As for the herniastuff. I have 2 of them now and I was scheduled for surgery but am prego now so I have to wait. It may bother the hernias some but should not be too bad. ONe is in the groin and the upper one by my pouch is the one I am worrying about since I know I am going to grow there alot and when I push out baby it may bother me but I will have to wait and see what happens. Guest guest
Dear Didi: Welcome. I'm so sorry you have so much to deal with. That's an awful lot to deal with. I'm glad that a doctor is looking towards a possible answer that would tie everything together. My name is Cindy and I'm married and have two boys. Seth is 12 and Ben is 7. Both of them have mito (cognitive effects, seizures, GI problems, muscle weakness, etc) and I suspect I have it mildly as well. Seth has mood problems and so I feel for you... I don't have any experience with low appetite here, I think everyone (except Ben) eats more to try to obtain more energy (my excuse anyway). I just wanted to welcome you and I hope you can get some answers. Cindy Cruz Hello Hi I'm Didi, I'm 28 years old, married and mother of 3 kids, Becky is 9 and had ADHD and a mood disorder, is 8, and has SID and speech delay(probably Dispraxia), and Damaris she is 6 and had PDD. After there last Check up, we were refer to a developmental doctor who suggested Becky and might have Mito and should be tested, Becky has grown only 2 inches since she was 6 and gain 4 pounds, she is 9 and a cothing for gilrs size 7 is to big for her, she will be 10 in 4 months. is the same . They having there bloodwork done Saturday and we will do the urine test Sunday. I my self suffer from SLE and Lupus Nephrits. Becky eats very little and it worries me she is not eating enough. Someties she is not even hungry, I have to remind her to eat, she don't eat junk food at all, I should be happy about that but I'm not, she is not eating, and it worries me. Guest guest
Hi, this is my first message. I wanted to reply, though, as this is so similar to my situation, and it is soooo nice to know there are others out there with the same issues. I don't have an exact surgery date yet, probably March. Current weight is 250, dealing with PCOS infertility for multiple years (I'm 35, and the biological clock is getting really loud). I'm hoping this will work to get pg, as well as healthier. Wishing you the best of luck. I will enjoy hearing how your journey goes! > Hello, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is . Guest guest
Wow, please keep in touch. I can not believe how many other people are having the same problems. Many have been able to conceive after this so I hope we both do. Thanks for writing, keep in touch let me know when you are going in. > > Hello, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is . Guest guest
For me, My PCOS got much better after my WLS. I initially had irregular periods, lots of hair growth, skin problems galore the weight gain of course, emotional lability oh and lots of blood sugar problems. The insulin resisitance was particularly bad with me. I had some heart problems ( PAC's) because of it as well. That is one of the big reasons for my surgery I was getting sicker and sicker. One month after my surgery my periods got regular. I had no more heart problems except if I was dumping, then my heart raced. The emotions were much better. I continued to have the hair growth on my face and have it even now during my pregnancy which I find odd. They say that its from the excess testosterone. I thought I was all estrogen and progesterone right now! I still have some skin problems but not as many. I continued to take the glucophage for my insulin resisitance, though just as I got pregnant I was about to undergo testing to see if I still needed to. It was interesting in that I saw my PCOS specialist about two weeks before conception. I was talking to her about how scared I was to gain weight back. She kept telling me. You are a " DIFFERENT PERSON NOW " . " Your body is not the same and physically you are a completley different woman.... Do you want to get pregnant? " She made me even cry( happily) a little. When I told her I didnt' think I could get pregnant and wasnt' sure I wanted to try, she reiterated that I was different and needed to have some testing to see if I was ovulating and if my blood sugars were evening out. Two weeks later at age 42 before I coudl even take the tests I got pregnant. Talk about a psychic prediction!
Guest guest
Wow that sounds great. I also understand that PCOS also gives women allot of hair problems, arms, chest chin ect. This is one of the signs I have I hope this ones goes away! Well one week out from surgury. Feb 2nd is the day. I am a little nervous, but know this is the only way I may become preg. so I am up for anything. Thank again.
Guest guest
Hello, Beto. Your English is very good. There are many, many people in this group who have been told by their doctors that the resurfacing is a very bad idea. These doctors are wrong. If you keep reading the things people write (on this website) you will learn much about why resurfacing is such a good procedure and why the " ususal " total hip replacement is to be avoided if at all possible. I had osteoarthritis of my left hip, the bones were rubbing on each other. I, too, was told that resurfacing was no good. I left my home state of Kentucky (USA) and traveled to another state to have the surgery done by a doctor who specializes in the resurfacing procedure. That was almost 5 months ago. I, too, was scared. But I was MOST afraid of the total hip replacement surgery. At this point, I often forget that I ever had surgery. Stay with this group, many folks from who had surgery done in Europe write here and I am sure they will answer your questions. Best to you, Joyce (Dr Gross, LHR, 2/2/04) Hello First of all, sorry by my bad english. I'm Rigobert (Beto for the friends), 39 years old, I'm Catalan (Catalonia is a small country in Spain State), I live near to Barcelona and I have a bilateral osteoarthritis in my hips. Recently I knew a patient who had a BHR (April/2004) in his left hip. His surgeon is Dr. González-Adrio Wagner in Barcelona. This patient is very happy with his new life: no pain and just now, start work and sport (walking and cycling). I didn't know this devices, two or three years ago I visited a lot of doctors and nobody told me this metod. Only says: " you must resist all the time as a possible, the only solution is the THR, and you are too young for this device " One month ago I visited Dr. González-Adrio and he show me this new method (BHR) and he encouraged me. Anybody knows Dr. González-Adrio Wagner? Now, I'm in study. I buy (and read) the book of Peggy (congratulations Peggy) and I visisted a lot of webs, specially www.activejoints.com (congratulations ), and I'm afraid. The " classical " doctors says: this is a experimental device (BHR), this device produces debris: metal ions, etc. and, probably, needs the same revision like THR with metal-poly. And now i not that to do... ---------------------------------

Guest guest
Bievenido Beto, Yo me llamo Cristobal Roche.
