Guest guest
Hi all, Just asking for a few prayers if you are of the praying kind. Lucas goes in tomorrow for an EGD and when under the anesthetic they will also be doing a spinal tap to check for neurotransmitters. The spinal tap is a repeat from a little over a year ago when they did one but never sent the fluid to Baylor for testing. The last anesthesia Lucas had he developed a partial collapse of his lung. I wish he didn't need to be put under but right now his quality of life is not very great. We are still venting about 150 cc's of GI fluid a day and he still has periods of gagging and vomiting since being an inpatient in Jan-Feb for 10 days (despite continuous venting for about 20 hours a day). I sure hope they can find out what is causing this and then they can do something to help him. There is also a possiblity of doing botox injections in his pyloric sphincter muscle in the future. Sure hope it doesn't come to this. (Whether it would be successful or for how long is the question.) They have us approved for 1 night so hopefully we will be home within 24 hours afterwards. Will keep you all posted once the results are in.
