Guest guest
Kass, It sounds like maybe he just has a small tear in his rectum and as long as the blood is bright red in color and he's not continuing to have any rectal bleeding afterwards then I wouldn't worry. Guest guest
I believe you need to be alarmed when the blood is brown or very dark red, with black stools. This means it is digested blood, and he is bleeding internally. For him being only 10, though this seems pretty unusual. I would defiantly think this warrants a call to the GI. Best of luck, hope he feels better soon.
Guest guest
Kass, I am glad that you are going to see someone today. It sounded like a lot of blood to me. Fissures are common in kids with Crohn's--my nephew gets them sometimes, and he is only 12. I sure hope that Chance doesn't have Crohn's. Take care,
