I saw my neurologist last week & asked him about seeing a pain specialist & he thought that was a great idea. I got a call that day from a pain clinic in Indianapolis & have an appt. 6/6. They treat back/disc pain, neuropathy, joint pain, fibromyalgia, plus a whole slew of others--cancer, phantom pain, headaches, all kinds of stuff. It's a multi-disciplinary approach. I'm looking forward to it. They sent a packet of forms to fill out. There is a whole page devoted to sleep issues & another about how the pain affects your life. Hope it turns out to be as good as it sounds. My prodigal daughter, who returned from San after being there for 2 weeks, has found an apartment about 5 min. from my house & 5 min. from her work, so she'll be moving out in a week or so. We have a lot of her stuff in the garage, so I'll be glad to get it cleared out. My financial adviser, named Jon, is helping me with my budget. He told me not to carry my debit card with me, or my checkbook. I can only use the debit card to buy gas, so that I can pay at the pump & not have to shuffle into the store to pay, and wait for all the lottery hopefuls to buy their tickets. He is not charging for this service. We spent about an hour last week. Next week we are going to work on June spending. I feel so much better having someone help who is competent, but not judgmental. He's my all-purpose helper. I bought a car from him last year after I totaled my car & couldn't find another one. It's been a good car too. Now he's talking to me about renting a house that he is renovating. It's not a bad house, either, but no garage or even carport. That would be hard for me to get used to. But it would be about $200 less rent. So, I'm thinking about it. He would even put in a small deck out back for my hot tub. Whatta guy, huh? He just had a baby son a few months ago, assisted into the world by one of the midwives at my former clinic. I've decided to let come home again, if the parole board releases her. It will be decided 6/13. Well, that's it for now, folks. Hoping everyone has little or no pain, some restful sleep, and something to smile about!
