Guest guest
Hi Ron, I am a Mrs. . I have had a lot of UTI's in the past. I don't know why or if it's related to the sarc at all. I don't self catheter or anything like that but I do have a problem with an overactive bladder and am on oxybutinin for that (a generic for ditropan). My systems are pain in lower abdomen, sometimes blood in my urine and the feeling of have to urinate all the time. It has never spread to my kidneys. I frequently have cloudy urine , but I thought it was from all the medications I am currently on. I hope this helps you out. Hugs, DebbieDo you have problems with urinary tract infections? If so, how often do they occur?Do you self catherer? How do you sterilize you catherers? What are you symptoms to cue you in on your infection?Has it ever spreaded to your kidneys? And if so, what were you symptoms?Just curious, I recently had a UTI and it caused me to shiver, with cloudy and smelly urine, low grade fever and tender and swollen testicles. Have you experienced this before.I had no idea about the swollen testicles. Man does that hurt!!!RonPS For you women that wears the pants in your family, your feedback is welcomed also Mrs. . ~~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~~The Neurosarcoidosis CommunityNS CHAT:- Has been cancelled for now.Message Archives:-http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Neurosarcoidosis/messagesMembers Database:-Listings of locations, phone numbers, and instant messengers.http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Neurosarcoidosis/database

Guest guest
Hey Ron, You know that I have to answer anything about bodily functions such as bladder and bowel because mine are broken too. One of the probolems with men is that the urethra (the tube where the urine comes out) is longer than a woman's so you have more area in which an infection can take root (no pun intended). You must be very fastidious with cleaning your catheter and you must be sure to urinate on a frequent basis. Urine sitting in the bladder for long periods of time are a no no. Also, you can drink cranberry juice to help when you have an infection. If you don't like cranberry juice, they have cranberry supplements in pill form which have the same effect. It doesn't allow the bacteria to stick to the ureter or the bladder - so no infection. I personally do not have to cath yet - but it is in my future. I have a neurogenic bladder with both retention and frequency with is a major pain in the ass to put it lightly. But I also am very careful to urinate immediately after intercourse (this is especially important for women) to flush out the bacteria that has been pushed into the urethra during intercourse. Well, whenever you want to talk about bm's just let me know. I recenlty had my first incontinence and was suprised by the present in my underwear when I sat down to urinate. Woo hoo! Take care and hope this helps the 's and the Jane's. Terri G. >> Hey "s"> > Do you have problems with urinary tract infections? If so, how often > do they occur?> > Do you self catherer? Guest guest
Hey Ron, I also have persistant UTI's ive seen a urologist a no cause can be found, unfortunatly the steroids mask the usual symptoms and me only tell tale signs are that I just feel crappy kidney pain when it has spread to there. I did take a low dose antibiotic on on long term basis for prevention espcially as we think they can trigger a sarc flare because the steroids are fighting the infection and the sarc is no longer supressed, I did come of them for a while as I hadnt had any infections but I got another last week so I probably will be starting them again. I also had regular testing by my GP who would then advise if I had an infection. All the advise Terri gave is all usefull the only thing I have to say there is some debate on drinking cranberry juice in large quantities or at all if you are taking cholesterol lowering medication. Guest guest
, I wasn't sure which one to use, but I really like that one. I will save the others for further communications. There are a couple of poo poo ones I like too. Especially this really constipated guy. He is hilarious. Back the subject; I think I am going to have to call and get started back on the detrol. I have started peeing my pants again. I didn't do that when I was on the meds. I just don't know what to do. Everyone has pretty much just thrown their hands up with me and I am only being treated symptomatically. As much as I hate steroids, at this point I would love the have some " mean medicine " (this is what my kids call it). It makes me feel so much better even though I am a raving manic. Well, so much for that; I know in my heart some day I will give a definitive diagnosis and have docs who care but for now I just keep praying for God to watch over me. Thanks for being there.
