Guest guest
I have a daughter 21,mito complex 2&3,speech affected, petit mal seizures, heat, cold, & exercise intolerant, fine motor is almost impossible, has been falling down more, legs scissoring more, becoming harder for her to do things. My question is about isolation, i have tried everything I can think of to get her involved in different activities with people her own age-but there is so much she can't do! Her hands shake so its hard for her to do fine motor tasks. Her speech in very hard to understand so a stranger would be lost. The least little bump and she falls. Where is she suppose to fit in this world?????? She loves rabbits and has 6, she feeds and waters them daily(although when weather is nasty I take care of them). She loves the Atlanta Braves and the Lakers. She doesn't have a close friend(I mean someone other than mom or grandma). She would so love to have a friend her own age. Last fall she took a college course at local school, this proved to be to much for her physically. Family tells me that she is happy and I know she is, but , many days I wonder is there more out there for her?? Then we try a new activity and I see it is so hard for her. She does seem to be content, should I just accept that and quit worrying that I should be doing more to fulfill her life. She is such a joy and blessing to all that she meets.
