Guest guest
Irene, The treat SLE much the same as Sarcoid too, they thought once that I had SLE, I had a rash that was typical of it, although I thought the rash was from the Sarcoid, but I put on Plaquanil for the rash either way, turns out I don't have SLE but still on the Plaquanil, in fact I have a friend with SLE and she is being treated with Plaquanil, and my dosage for Sarc is higher. So at least they can maybe treat both at the same time. and yes it is overwhelming to think, now I have two autoimmune disease's, know you are in my prayers. blessings, Marla In a message dated 3/24/06 12:15:51 PM Pacific Standard Time, ilambert@... writes: Ducky- so it is possible I have BOTH!! That could explain the Neuro saying NS and the Rheumy saying SLE. My future is looking bleaker all the time,I think I'll go bury my head back in the sand now..... Irene, I so totally understand. It does feel so much safer when we either have no knowledge, or we have a definate diagnosis. although it's possible to have multiple auto-immune diseases--more than likely it's the sarc that's causing secondary problems to the primary sarcoid problem. Once we get the sarc under control, the other stuff will follow. What kind of treatment are you on? Have you taken a look at the LINKS and ARCHIVES-- there is alot of info that is good to take to the MD's with you. Since we are a Medical rarity (NS is a part of the list of diseases on the National Organization of Rare Disease--NORD) and so we have to educate those around us. Although it was a tropical storm, there is still much devastation.I am thunderstruck by the amount of water. People are losing their homes, businesses, and one school is completely under water. It is a tragedy. I am glued to the TV watching all the horrible events. love to you and your family,KateTo: "MSersLife " <MSersLife >Sent: Monday, August 29, 2011 1:04 PMSubject: Re: Irene Thank God you came through it safely, Kate. Please let us know when you hear news of Bob's boat. I was listening to the national news on the radio this morning about all the trees down and the flooding. I'm so glad it didn't hit as at Cat 1 hurricane but instead as a tropical storm. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. The winds whipped--I think they were 60mph. It poured. So many here have lost so much. The major roads are closed. The major highways were ALL closed; mass transit in the city came to a halt. It will take a very long time for the waters to stop rising. The Croton River and Hudson River, both relatively close to us were bursting. The Long Island Sound and LI itself got really hammered. We are awaiting news on my brother, Bob's boat which is anchored, pretty safely in the LI Sound.Wishing the waters would ebb and retreat...love,KateTo: MSersLife Sent: Sunday, August 28, 2011 7:51 PMSubject: Irene Well, the coverage has ended, and I am back to bloomberg TV. They say there were 18 deaths...that is a lot, the whole thing is quite tragic and sorrowful. I am just glad it wasn't worse, and my prayers go out to those who lost so much during this storm. I know we could have just as easily been victims, and are very lucky Irene decided to bypass Florida. I don't know if Rob is ok, since I have not heard from him since they left, except for a short email telling me he was in Herkimer, and that was a few days after they left, nothing since. So I don't know if he is/was there or in Boston, or if he is ok. I hope he is safe. Hugs Akiba
