Pressure bruise look- question

I was wondering if anyone has ever heard or seen this before? My 7 year old, Tirzah, has these dots all over her face. The other time I have seen this was when one of my daughters wore a crocheted shirt in the hot summer to Adventure Land and Luke held too tightly to her. It left these pressure bruises on her chest. Well, this looks similar but on her face which makes no sense. The only explanation I have is that they appeared after one of her coughing, gagging episodes and was unable to get air. (We still are battling this since the whooping cough unfortunately.) Would lack of air (almost like an asphyxiation) cause this? She did vomit lots of phlegm with this episode. Has anyone seen this and should I be concerned?
