Guest guest
I really like the Pulmonologist we saw. (He is the one who took our Pertussis/whooping cough issue seriously.) He is concerned about Porrah's swallowing and breathing issues and has a plan of action that is appropriate in my opinion. Since Mayo did an upper GI and flouroscopy and saw nothing unusual he wants to start off less invasively before doing procedures that may be unnecessary. We are going to start by giving her steroids for up to 10 days and keeping a journal over these days and then doing a swallow study with the OT who regularly sees Porrah. I really like this because she KNOWS there are problems and takes this seriously. If we need to dig farther after this he will pursue further testing. Asthma is definitely a problem in our family and we are also wondering if the reflux Porrah has may be causing aspiration issues. She has had two major upper respiratory problems in less than 4 months. Both have caused stroke episodes. And between them she has had many feeding and breathing problems. I sure hope we get some answers and help for her. Darla: mommy to Asenath, Zipporrah, and the gang Get more from the Web.
