Darla,

It sounds like pettechia (sp) to me too. had a platelet

issue when she was 10wks. Her first sign was small little bruises

(blotches) on her face. Platelets can drop with a viral infection.

Aseneth has had blood issues hasn't she? I would call the doc and

have them do a count on her.

This sounds like patechial hemmorage (sp?) It is when there is a lack of

oxygen with pressure. So if someone is violently throwing up or coughing

they can get them. hope this helps

Darla

I recently took my son to his ped after I noticed little red dots on his

face, neck and chest after he had one of his coughing, fighting for breath

spells. He explanined the pressure of the episode burst vessels in those

areas and that what it was from. He also checked that he did not have them

on his legs because there is something similar that is more serious. But he

didn't have it on his legs and was not running a fever so he was not

concerned. But it wouldn't hurt to call your Doctor to check. Hope all is

well.

Darla, are they tiny, pinpoint red dots? Are they mainly on her face? This could be petechae (sp?), caused by burst capallaries. This happens to Chelsea all the time with srong coughing episodes. It's very minor, sort of like a hickey, and should heal right up.
